Endothelial Cell Proliferation Medium, Basal
Milieux de culture cellulaire
Endothelial cell proliferation medium is a sterile liquid culture medium for culturing endothelial cells. The medium is delivered as a basal medium and is suitable for culturing human endothelial cells after adding the supplement mix components.
- Formulation is optimised for initial seeding of 4000 cells/cm² up to confluence (approx. 90%)
- Feeder-layer, matrix substrates or other substances are not necessary
It's crucial to note that HMSC-bm cultures undergo careful methods during isolation, ensuring that they remain untransformed and unmutated, maintaining characteristics reflective of their in vivo state. These primary cultures have a limited in-vitro lifespan. Each batch of HMSC-bm undergoes rigorous testing, specifically assessing their proliferative capacity.
These assessments are conducted using Provitro's culture reagents, as detailed in the accompanying certificate of analysis. This stringent testing process ensures the consistency and reliability of HMSC-bm cultures for research and experimental applications.
Due to the possibility of reduced proliferative activity, it is recommended to use the antibiotic supplement for freshly isolated cells only. Endothelial cell proliferation medium is thoroughly tested after each production. All components are tested in a stringent biological assay. Each batch is checked for human endothelial cells proliferating characteristics. Cells cultured in endothelial cell growth medium are checked regarding morphology, adherence rate, colony forming efficiency, and population doubling time.
Storge: Check the cryovial for signs of damage upon receipt. Since the cryopreserved HMSC-bm samples are shipped on dry ice, they must be immediately transferred to a freezer at −80 °C for storage, either for a period of up to one week or after the thawing process described below. In cases where longer storage is required, the vial should be transferred directly to liquid nitrogen at a temperature of −196 °C. This ensures optimal preservation of the vial. This ensures optimal preservation of the cryopreserved HMSC-bm samples for longer-term storage requirements.
Store the supplemented endothelial cell proliferation medium in a dark environment at temperatures ranging from 4 to 8 °C for a maximum duration of one month. Avoid heating the medium beyond 37 °C and refrain from using uncontrolled heat sources, such as microwave appliances. When utilising a portion of the medium, extract the required amount from the bottle and warm it appropriately. Never freeze the medium, as this could result in elevated salt concentrations due to the separation of pure water during freezing, leading to irreversible damage.
