Mitochondrial Tracking Dye, Blue
Tests
Tests cellulaires
Fluorescent hydrophobic dye that selectively accumulates in mitochondria - 500 tests.
- Excitation wavelength: 344 nm
- Emission wavelength: 469 nm
- Easily crosses live cell membranes due to hydrophobicity
- Partially dependent on mitochondrial membrane potential
- Cell-retaining group produces longer retention times
Rapidly label mitochondria in proliferating and non-proliferating cells with Mitochondrial Tracking Dye, Blue. This fixable fluorescent dye uses a quick and simple staining protocol that is well suited for high-throughput screening and is compatible with fluorescence microscopy. Mitochondrial Tracking Dye, Blue uses a labeling protocol with minimal hands-on time while promoting photostability and long retention times for enhanced staining efficiency.
Mitochondrial Tracking Dye, Blue is a hydrophobic dye that accumulates in mitochondria and is partially dependent on mitochondrial membrane potential. Upon depolarisation, the dye relocalises to the cytoplasm and becomes non-specific, but still retains its blue fluorescence. This mitochondrial tracking dye contains a cell-retaining group thiol chloromethyl that increases staining efficiency by retaining fluorescence long after fixation (Clutton et al. Cytometry A, 2019). Mitochondrial Tracking Dye, Blue is suitable for multi-labeling experiments such as microplate assays and flow cytometry. Use mitochondrial tracking dyes to quantify mitochondrial activity, localisation, and abundance.
