2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (free radical) ≥95%, solide cristallin
2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (free radical)
DPPH, known formally as 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, is a cell-permeable, stable free radical that is commonly used to evaluate the ability of compounds to act as free radical scavengers or hydrogen donors and to measure the antioxidant activity of tissue extracts.
- Synonyms: 2,2-Diphenyl-1-Picrylhydrazyl; DPPH radical
The reaction of DPPH with an antioxidant or reducing compound produces the corresponding hydrazine DPPH2, which can be followed by color change from purple (absorbance at 515 to 528 nm) to yellow.
DPPH is sparingly soluble in aqueous solutions. To enhance aqueous solubility, dilute the organic solvent solution into aqueous buffers or isotonic saline. If performing biological experiments, ensure the residual amount of organic solvent is insignificant, since organic solvents may have physiological effects at low concentrations. Not recommend storing the aqueous solution for more than one day.
