ALiCE® for Scale-Up is a powerful protein production solution, optimised to support milligram scale protein expression for in-depth analysis and characterisation studies.
Based on the same technology as our popular ALiCE® for Research Kits, ALiCE® for Scale-Up consistently produces high protein yields of over 2 mg/ml (eYFP standard). Originating from N. tabacum c.v. BY-2 cells, this eukaryotic cell-free expression system, contains native microsomes derived from endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus that allow easy production of proteins with membrane-spanning domains or eukaryotic post-translational modifications, including di-sulfide bonds and N-glycosylation. With everything required for protein expression included in the lysate (amino acids, energy supply, co-factors, etc.), the reaction is initiated by simply adding DNA.
ALiCE® for Scale-Up is provided together with two vectors, pALiCE01 and pALiCE02, which enable the user to produce proteins via the cytosolic or microsomal pathways for optimal flexibility. The pALiCE01 and pALiCE02 vectors are also hosted at 3rd party vendors (Twist and IDT), allowing simple synthesis direct of ready-to-use template DNA.
Note: ALiCE® for Scale-Up is also compatible with linear DNA formats. Details for optimised expression available upon request. For larger-scale protein characterisation and development projects, ALiCE® for Scale-Up provides the flexibility and scalability required to support your protein discovery objectives.
