Description:
Nestin, is a large intermediate filament protein (class Type VI) that was first identified with a monoclonal antibody by Hockfield and McKay (1985). Nestin is expressed predominantly in stem cells of the central nervous system in the neural tube. Nestin is expressed during development and in myotendinous and neuromuscular junctions. Nestin expression is restricted, typically disappearing by E18. Nestin is thought to be a reasonable neuronal marker; however, recent studies have found nestin expression in other cell types such as endothelial cells. Nestin expression is seen in almost all GBMs (Glioblastoma mulitformes) and many melanomas (both primary and metastatic) but not in any metastatic carcinomas. Upon terminal neural differentiation, nestin is downregulated and replaced by neurofilaments.

Description:
Mesothelin is a cell surface glycoprotein whose expression is limited to mesothelial cells of the serosa (pleura, pericardium, and peritoneum) and epithelial cells of the trachea, tonsils, fallopian tube, and kidneys. Mesothelin plays an important role in cell survival, proliferation, migration, invasion, tumour progression, and resistance to chemotherapy. The overexpression of mesothelin can activate NF-κB and signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (Stat3), inhibit apoptotic signalling and TNF- alpha-induced apoptosis, and accelerate the G1–S transition. Mesothelin is also found overexpressed in various cancers, including malignant mesothelioma, pancreatic or ovarian carcinoma, sarcomas and in some gastrointestinal or pulmonary carcinomas. As a result of its limited expression in normal tissues, mesothelin has been reported as an ideal tumour-associated marker for the development of targeted therapy.

TFAP2A is a sequence-specific DNA-binding protein that interacts with inducible viral and cellular enhancer elements to regulate transcription of selected genes. PCDH18 Antibody: Protocadherins comprise the largest group within the cadherin family of calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion molecules. Protocadherin 18 (PCDH18) was initially identified through screening of human and mouse ESTs using conserved cytoplasmic domain motifs. Tissue screening revealed PCDH18 broad expression in tissues such as brain, liver, heart, kidney, lung, and trachea. PCDH18 expression is also temporally and spatially regulated in the mouse embryonic brain and interacts with Disabled-1, an intracellular adapter protein involved in neuronal migration and cell positioning during mammalian brain development. PCDH18 was also found to be expressed in the developing zebrafish neural tube and central nervous system, lending support to the hypothesis that PCDH18 may play a role during brain development.

DBX2 Antibody: DBX2 is a member of the developing brain homeobox (DBX) protein family, but while the related protein DBX1 is expressed in various regions of the developing brain, DBX2 shows a more restricted pattern of expression in the brain, and is also expressed in some mesenchymal cells such as limb buds and tooth germs. It is thought that DBX1 and DBX2 promote the development of a subset of interneurons, some of which help mediate left-right coordination of locomotor activity. In Xenopus, DBX2 is involved in primary neurogenesis and early neural plate patterning, and is thought to act as a cross-repressive partner of NKX6-2 in the patterning of the ventral neural tube.
