CD83 antigen is a single-pass type I membrane protein which contains one Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. CD83 is expressed by activated lymphocytes, Langerhans cells and interdigitating reticulum cells. It contains one Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain, the soluble CD83 has the opposite effect and has an immune inhibitory capacity. Due to its immune inhibitory function, CD83 may play a significant role in antigen presentation or the cellular interactions that follow lymphocyte activation.

Synaptotagmins are a large family of synaptic vesicle type III integral membrane proteins that function as regulators of both exocytosis and endocytosis and are involved in neurotransmitter secretion from small secretory vesicles. Synaptotagmin XI, also known as SYT11 (Synaptotagmin-11), is a 431 amino acid protein that localizes to the membrane and is expressed ubiquitously with highest expression in brain and lung. Like other Synaptotagmin proteins, Synaptotagmin XI is involved in the calcium-dependent exocytosis of secretory vesicles and is thought to act as a calcium sensor during vesicular trafficking. Synaptotagmin XI contains two C2 domains through which it can bind either three calcium ions or the zinc-finger protein Parkin (a juvenile Parkinson’s disease gene product), the latter of which causes the polyubiquitination and subsequent degradation of Synaptotagmin XI by the proteasome complex. Defects in the gene encoding Synaptotagmin XI are implicated in a number of neurological disorders, including schizophrenia and Parkinson’s disease.

IFNGR1 is phosphorylated at Ser/Thr residues after translation. IFNGR1 is a receptor for interferon gamma, two receptors bind one interferon gama dimer. A genetic variation in IFNGR1 is associated with susceptibility to Helicobacter pylori infection. In addition, defects in IFNGR1 are a cause of mendelian susceptibility to mycobacterial disease, also known as familial disseminated atypical mycobacterial infection.

CD320 has been recently discovered and reported as a follicular dendritic cell (FDC) protein. CD320 can augments the proliferation of plasma cells precursors generated by IL-10. CD320 also founctions a receptor for the cellular uptake of transcobalamin bound cobalamin. Defects in CD320 are the cause of methylmalonic aciduria type TCblR (MMATC) which is a metabolic disorder.

CD160 antigen is a Lipid-anchor that exists as a disulfide-linked homomultimer. CD160 contains one Ig-like V-type domain. The human CD160 precursor is a cysteine-rich, glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored protein of 181 amino acids with a single Ig-like domain. It is weakly homologous to KIR2DL4. CD160 is expressed in the spleen, peripheral blood, and small intestine. Its expression is tightly associated with peripheral blood NK cells and CD8 T lymphocytes with cytolytic effector activity. CD160 is a receptor showing broad specificity for both classical and non-classical MHC class I molecules.

Growth hormone receptor is a transmembrane receptor for growth hormone (GH). GH is a single-chain polypeptide that is mainly synthesised and released from the anterior pituitary gland and plays essential roles in growth, development and metabolism. GH exerts its physiological actions via GH binding to its receptor in its extracellular domain. Binding of growth hormone to the receptor leads to receptor dimerisation and the activation of an intra- and intercellular signal transduction pathway leading to growth. B-Cell Differentiation Antigen CD72 (CD72) is a single-pass type II membrane protein. CD72 exists as a disulfide-linked homodimer and contains one C-type lectin domain. CD72 is expressed on B lineage cells, NK cells, monocytes, dendritic cells, and mast cells. CD72 is a ligand for CD5. CD72 associates with CD5, interacts with PTPN6/SHP-1 and plays a role in B-cell proliferation and differentiation. CD72 associates with CD79A in the B cell antigen receptor (BCR) complex following antigen stimulation and dampens BCR signaling through interactions with the phosphatase SHP-1.
