Description:   Agar is a polysaccharide complex extracted by bleaching and hot water treatment of agarocytes from the red alga Rhodophyceae, and usually consisting of the genera Gelidium, Acanthopeltis, Ceramium, Pterocladia and Gracilaria. The algae are typically found in the Pacific and Indian Oceans and in the Sea of Japan. It is primarily composed of two different units: Agarose and Agaropectin; Agarose is a neutral gelling component which is composed of a linear polymer of alternating D-galactose and 3,6-anhydrogalactose units. Agaropectin is a non-gelling component which consists of D-1,3-glycosidically linked D-galactose units, some of which are sulfated at the 6th position.
Agar is typically used in (According to the Merck Index): Substitute for gelatin, isinglass, etc. in making emulsions including photographic, gels in cosmetics, and as thickening agent in foods especially confectionaries and dairy products; in meat canning; in production of medicinal encapsulations and ointments; as dental impression mold base; as corrosion inhibitor; sizing for silks and paper; in the dyeing and printing of fabrics and textiles; in adhesives. In nutrient media for bacterial cultures.

Description:   MP EcoChrom™ SILICA is used as a suspending and thickening agent in pharmaceutical.A silica-based aerogel was used in the Stardust spacecraft to collect extraterrestrial particles. Silica is also used in the extraction of DNA and RNA due to its ability to bind to the nucleic acids under the presence of chaotropes. As hydrophobic silica it is used as a defoamer component. In hydrated form, it is used in toothpaste as a hard abrasive to remove tooth plaque. SiO2 has a number of distinct crystalline forms (polymorphs) in addition to amorphous forms. In the majority of silicates, the Si atom shows tetrahedral coordination, with 4 oxygen atoms surrounding a central Si atom.

MP EcoChrom™ Silica, the chemical compound silicon dioxide, also known as silica (from the Latin silex), is an oxide of silicon with the chemical formula SiO2 with a mean pore size of 60Å and particles size of 200-500μm. MP silica are free of particles outside the standard range. The irregular shape of MP Silica permits the easy packing of column permeability and plate number. They allow easy switching from one sieve cut to another, offering an easy way to change the chromatographic methods. It has been known for its hardness since ancient times. Silica is most commonly found in nature as sand or quartz, as well as in the cell walls of diatoms.

Description:   En verre borosilicaté

Fournisseur:  Bioss
Description:   Signal transducer and transcription activator that mediates cellular responses to interleukins, KITLG/SCF and other growth factors. May mediate cellular responses to activated FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3 and FGFR4. Binds to the interleukin-6 (IL-6)-responsive elements identified in the promoters of various acute-phase protein genes. Activated by IL31 through IL31RA. Cytoplasmic STAT3 represses macroautophagy by inhibiting EIF2AK2/PKR activity. Plays an important role in host defense in methicillin-resistant S.aureus lung infection by regulating the expression of the antimicrobial lectin REG3G (By similarity).

Description:   Acts as component of the MCM2-7 complex (MCM complex) which is the putative replicative helicase essential for 'once per cell cycle' DNA replication initiation and elongation in eukaryotic cells. The active ATPase sites in the MCM2-7 ring are formed through the interaction surfaces of two neighboring subunits such that a critical structure of a conserved arginine finger motif is provided in trans relative to the ATP-binding site of the Walker A box of the adjacent subunit. The six ATPase active sites, however, are likely to contribute differentially to the complex helicase activity. Required for the entry in S phase and for cell division.

Description:   Serine protease which is capable of degrading a number of proteins such as casein, fibrinogen, kininogen, fibronectin and collagen type IV. Also cleaves L1CAM in response to increased neural activity. Induces neurite outgrowth and fasciculation of cultured hippocampal neurons. Plays a role in the formation and maturation of orphan and small synaptic boutons in the Schaffer-collateral pathway, regulates Schaffer-collateral long-term potentiation in the hippocampus and is required for memory acquisition and synaptic plasticity. Involved in skin desquamation and keratinocyte proliferation. Plays a role in the secondary phase of pathogenesis following spinal cord injury.

Description:   TAL1 disruption at 1p32, a common rearrangement in the T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, usually results in the formation of a SCL interrupting locus (SIL)-TAL1 fusion product. SIL is an immediate early gene whose expression is associated with cell proliferation. The Sil protein exhibits ubiquitous expression in hematopoietic cell lines and tissues. However, Sil protein levels remain tightly regulated during the cell cycle, achieving peak levels in mitosis and diminishing on transition to G1 phase. Overexpression of Sil in primary adenocarcinomas predicts metastatic spread, especially in lung tumors with increased mitotic activity.

Description:   Hamartin, or TSC1, is a suspected tumor suppressor implicated in the disease tuberous sclerosis 1. It is a negative regulator of cell division controlling the transition from G0/G1 to S phase, and it seems to act through the phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase/Akt pathway. TSC1 interacts with tuberin m(TSC2), which is thought to be a GAP (GTPase Activating Protein) for the Rap1 and Rab5 small G Proteins. The Hamartin/Tuberin complex has been shown to inhibit mTor. Hamartin has also been shown to interact with ERM (Ezrin-Radixin-Moesin) proteins and with F-actin, suggesting a role for TSC proteins in modulation of cell adhesion and morphology.

Description:   Serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in the control of the eukaryotic cell cycle, whose activity is controlled by an associated cyclin. Acts as a cell-cycle regulator of Wnt signaling pathway during G2/M phase by mediating the phosphorylation of LRP6 at 'Ser-1490', leading to the activation of the Wnt signaling pathway. Acts as a regulator of cell cycle progression and cell proliferation via its interaction with CCDN3. Phosphorylates RB1 in vitro, however the relevance of such result remains to be confirmed in vivo. May also play a role in meiosis, neuron differentiation and may indirectly act as a negative regulator of insulin-responsive glucose transport.
