Description:   The DTA-1 antibody reacts with mouse CD357, also known as GITR or AITR (in humans), a 66-70 kDa member of the Tumor Necrosis Factor superfamily (TNFRSF18). GITR is primarily found on T cells, and its function may vary depending on the T cell type where it is expressed. GITR is upregulated on activated T cells where it provides co-stimulation, yet GITR may promote the inhibition of CD4+ CD25+ Treg cells, where it is expressed at high levels. GITR ligand (GITRL) is found on B cells, macrophages, dendritic and endothelial cells, and is implicated in regulating both innate and adaptive immune responses.

Description:   Anaphylatoxin, a chemotactic and inflammatory peptide, is a receptor for C5a anaphylatoxin chemotactic receptor (C5L2), also designated G protein-coupled receptor 77. C5L2 is an integral membrane protein that belongs to the Gprotein-coupled receptor 1 family. C5L2 weakly couples to Gi-mediated signaling pathways and is widely expressed in the hippocampus, hypothalamus, pons, frontal cortex and liver. It is coexpressed with the C5a receptor (C5AR) on polymorphonuclear neutrophils and may modulate the activity of C5AR. The function of the C5a receptors, particularly that of C5L2, is still unclear. Research suggests that C5L2 may be required for the in vitro release of high mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1).

Description:   Members of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-Beta) superfamily play critical roles in controlling cell growth and differentiation. Effects of TGF-Beta family ligands are mediated by Smad proteins. The Smad nuclear interacting protein (SNIP1) contains a forkhead-associated (FHA) domain and acts as a nuclear inhibitor of CBP/p300. SNIP1 potently inhibits the activity of NF-kappa B, which binds the C/H1 domain of CBP/p300, by competing for the binding site. SNIP1 is also thought to induce expression of Cyclin D1 to promote cellular proliferation. SNIP1 is ubiquitously expressed with high expression in heart and skeletal muscle.

Description:   The interleukin 2 (IL2) receptor alpha (IL2RA) and beta (IL2RB) chains, together with the common gamma chain (IL2RG), constitute the high-affinity IL2 receptor. Homodimeric alpha chains (IL2RA) result in low-affinity receptor, while homodimeric beta (IL2RB) chains produce a medium-affinity receptor. Normally an integral-membrane protein, soluble IL2RA has been isolated and determined to result from extracellular proteolyisis. Alternately-spliced IL2RA mRNAs have been isolated, but the significance of each is presently unknown. Mutations in this gene are associated with interleukin 2 receptor alpha deficiency.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009].

Description:   Glutamate receptors mediate most excitatory neurotransmission in the brain and play an important role in neural plasticity, neural development and neurodegeneration. Ionotropic glutamate receptors are categorized into NMDA receptors and kainate/AMPA receptors, both of which contain glutamate-gated, cation-specific ion channels. Kainate/AMPA receptors are co-localized with NMDA receptors in many synapses and consist of seven structurally related subunits designated GluR-1 to -7. The kainate/AMPA receptors are primarily responsible for fast excitatory neurotransmission by glutamate, whereas the NMDA receptors exhibit slow kinetics of Ca2+ ions and a high permeability for Ca2+ ions.

Description:   Fibronectin is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein present on most cell surfaces, in extracellular fluids and in plasma. A high molecular weight heterodimeric protein, it was originally discovered as a protein missing from the surfaces of virus-transformed cells, and it has been shown to be involved in various functions including cell adhesion, cell motility and wound healing. Alternative splicing and glycosylation give rise to several different forms of Fibronectin, some of which exhibit restricted tissue distribution or association with malignancies. It has been shown that Myofibroblasts phenotype formation correlates with the occurrence of glycosylated Fibronectin and Fibronectin splice variants in Dupuytren's disease.

Description:   This antibody recognizes a protein of 25-26 kDa, identified as the bcl-2 α oncoprotein. It shows no cross-reaction with Bcl-x or Bax protein. Expression of bcl-2 α oncoprotein inhibits the programmed cell death (apoptosis). In most follicular lymphomas, neoplastic germinal centers express high levels of bcl-2 α protein, whereas the normal or hyperplastic germinal centers are negative. Consequently, this antibody is valuable when distinguishing between reactive and neoplastic follicular proliferation in lymph node biopsies. It may also be used in distinguishing between those follicular lymphomas that express bcl-2 protein and the small number in which the neoplastic cells are bcl-2 negative.

Description:   This antibody recognizes a protein of about 60 kDa, which is identified as human UGT1A9. It does not cross-react with the other UGT1A isoforms including UGT1A7, UGT1A8, and UGT1A10 and shows a high degree of specificity. UGT1A9 is a UDP-glucuronosyltransferase, an enzyme of the glucuronidation pathway that transforms small lipophilic molecules, such as steroids, bilirubin, hormones, and drugs, into water-soluble, excretable metabolites. This MAb binds to human hepatocytes and the majority of human hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC s). In frozen sections, it stains hepatic cells and may be used as a marker of the liver. This MAb also binds to cell preparations of hepatocellular carcinoma biopsies or cell lines.

Description:   Recognizes a single glycoprotein of 520 kDa, identified as mucin 2 (MUC2). This MAb shows no cross-reaction with human milk fat globule membranes, MUC1, or MUC3. Its epitope has been defined as GTQTP (GlyThrGlnThrPro). Mucins are high molecular weight glycoproteins, which constitute the major component of the mucus layer that protects the gastric epithelium. MUC2 is specifically expressed in goblet cells of the small intestine & colon; in about 65% of colonic carcinomas and about 40% of gastric carcinomas. MUC2 is rarely expressed outside of the GI tract with the exceptions of mucinous carcinoma of breast and clear cell-type carcinomas of the ovary.

Description:   This antibody recognizes a protein of 94 kDa, which is identified as the glucose-regulated protein 94 (grp94) and also tumor rejection antigen (gp96). Grp94 shows a high degree of sequence homology with the heat shock protein 90 (hsp90). This MAb is highly specific to grp94 and shows minimal cross-reaction with other members of the HSP90 family. Grp s are a class of proteins unresponsive to heat shock and are induced by glucose deprivation. Grp94 has been briefly studied as a prognostic factor in breast cancer.

Description:   Non-signaling receptor for IL1A, IL1B and IL1RN. Reduces IL1B activities. Serves as a decoy receptor by competetive binding to IL1B and preventing its binding to IL1R1. Also modulates cellular response through non-signaling association with IL1RAP after binding to IL1B. IL1R2 (membrane and secreted forms) preferentially binds IL1B and poorly IL1A and IL1RN. The secreted IL1R2 recruits secreted IL1RAP with high affinity; this complex formation may be the dominant mechanism for neutralization of IL1B by secreted/soluble receptors.
