Ly-6G and Ly-6C form the Granulocyte Receptor-1 antigen (GR-1). The binding of the 1A8 antibody to the Ly-6G can be blocked by another antibody, RB6-8C5, which also recognizes Ly-6C. Description:
Interleukine 10 (IL-10) is a cytokine produced primarily by monocytes and to a lesser extent by lymphocytes. This cytokine has pleiotropic effects in immunoregulation and inflammation. It down- regulates the expression of Th1 cytokines, MHC class II Ags, and costimulatory molecules on macrophages. It also enhances B cell survival, proliferation, and antibody production. This cytokine can block NF-kappa B activity, and is involved in the regulation of the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. Knockout studies in mice suggested the function of this cytokine as an essential immunoregulator in the intestinal tract.

SARS Spike Antibody: A novel coronavirus has recently been identified as the causative agent of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). Coronaviruses are a major cause of upper respiratory diseases in humans. The genomes of these viruses are positive-stranded RNA approximately 27-31kb in length. SARS infection can be mediated by the binding of the viral spike protein, a glycosylated 139 kDa protein and the major surface antigen of the virus, to the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) on target cells. This binding can be blocked by a soluble form of ACE2.

Sulfamethazine is an antimicrobial sulfur drug that blocks the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid by inhibiting the enzyme dihydropteroate synthase. Sulfamethazine is a competitive inhibitor of bacterial para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), which is required for bacterial synthesis of folic acid. It induces CYP3A4 expression and is acetylated by N-acetyltransferase. It exhibits sex dependent pharmacokinetics, metabolized by the male specific isoform CYP2C11. Sulfamethazine is bacteriostatic.

Girdin Antibody: Girdin is a Galpha-interacting protein that can enhance the activation of the protein kinase Akt, remodel the actin cytoskeleton, and is thought to be involved in the regulation of cell migration and cancer metastasis. It has recently been shown that Girdin interacts with Disrupted-in-Schizophrenia 1 (DISC1), a susceptibility gene for major psychiatric disorders. DISC1 is thought to be involved in the migration, positioning and differentiation of dentate granule cells (DGCs) during development; depletion of Girdin or blocking the Girdin-DISC1 interaction results in defects in axonal sprouting in the CA3 region of the hippocampus and overextended migration of mispositioning of DGCs, suggesting the Girdin plays a role in postnatal neurogenesis in the dentate gyrus.

Mouse CD83 is a 30-35kDa member of the Siglec (or sialic-acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin) family of transmembrane proteins. CD83 is a primary marker for dendritic cells. It is also found on B cells, neutrophils, monocytes and macrophages. Except for dendritic cells, CD83 expression is often transient. CD83 binds to sialic acids on target cells. Membrane CD83 promotes T cell proliferation, particularly of CD8+ cytotoxic T cells. Soluble CD83 is immunosuppressive and blocks T cell activation. On monocytes, CD83 is suggested to drive monocytes into a fibrocyte phenotype. A lack of membrane-expressed CD83 leads to an unusual IL-4/ IL-10 producing CD4+ T cell phenotype.

The GK1.5 monoclonal antibody specifically binds with the mouse CD4 molecule, also known as L3T4, a 55 kDa differentiation antigen which binds to the MHC class II. CD4 is expressed on most thymocytes, a subpopulation of mature T lymphocytes, dendritic cells, pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells, B cell precursors, and lymphoid precursors inside the thymus. It is also expressed on the mouse egg cell membrane, enhancing adhesion to MHC class II bearing sperm. CDIP Antibody: The p53 tumor-suppressor gene integrates numerous signals that control cell life and death; loss of its functions contributes to the development of most cancers. CDIP is a novel pro-apoptotic target gene whose inhibition abrogates p53-mediated apoptotic responses. Overexpression of CDIP induced apoptosis in transfected cells while siRNA suppression of caspase-8 mRNA blocked this CDIP-induced apoptosis, indicating that the CDIP-dependent apoptosis pathway proceeds through extrinsic cell death pathway. CDIP may thus represent a novel target for drug design to maximize p53 response and sensitize tumor cells to cancer therapy. Multiple isoforms of CDIP are known to exist.

KPNA6 Antibody: Karyopherin, a cytosolic and heterodimeric protein complex consisting of alpha and beta subunits, is responsible for targeting proteins with nuclear localization signals to the nuclear pore complex (NPC) by an energy requiring, Ran-dependent mechanism. The alpha subunit and imported substrate enter the nucleus and accumulate in the nucleoplasm, while the beta subunit accumulates at the NPC. KPNA6 belongs to a subfamily within the KPNA family that also includes IPOA5&6. Down-regulation of KPNA6 by RNAi expression in HeLa cells strongly inhibited cell proliferation, possibly due to blocking the nuclear import of specific factors essential for cell growth and proliferation. KPNA6 also interacts with the Rev protein of HIV-1 and promote its nuclear import.
