Bone homeostasis seems to depend on the local ratio between TNFSF11 and TNFRSF11B. May also play a role in preventing arterial calcification. May act as decoy receptor for TNFSF1/TRAIL and protect against apoptosis. TNFSF1/TRAIL binding blocks the inhibition of osteoclastogenesis.

Kallistatin is a serine proteinase inhibitor which binds to tissue kallikrein and inhibits its amidolytic and kininogenase activity. Inhibition is achieved by formation of an equimolar, heat- and SDS-stable complex between the inhibitor and the enzyme, and generation of a small C-terminal fragment of the inhibitor due to cleavage at the reactive site by tissue kallikrein. Heparin blocks kallistatin's complex formation with tissue kallikrein and abolishes its inhibitory effect on tissue kallikrein's activity.

Description:
The MR1 antibody is specific for mouse CD154, a 39 kD glycoprotein that is primarily expressed on activated T cells. CD154 (CD40 ligand, gp39) binds to CD40 expressed on antigen presenting cells and mediates important costimulatory functions between these cells. Signals generated via cognate interactions between CD154-CD40 on activated T and B cells are required for T-dependent B cell responses. The MR1 antibody is reported to block interaction of CD154 with CD40.

This potassium channel is controlled by G proteins. Inward rectifier potassium channels are characterised by a greater tendency to allow potassium to flow into the cell rather than out of it. Their voltage dependence is regulated by the concentration of extracellular potassium; as external potassium is raised, the voltage range of the channel opening shifts to more positive voltages. The inward rectification is mainly due to the blockage of outward current by internal magnesium. Can be blocked by external barium (By similarity).

NOC2L or NIR (Novel INHAT Repressor) is ubiquitously expressed throughout embryonic development and adulthood. It is a potent transcriptional corepressor that is not blocked by histone deacetylase inhibitors and is capable of silencing both basal and activator-driven transcription. Zinc-finger proteins contain DNA-binding domains and have a wide variety of functions, most of which encompass some form of transcriptional activation or repression. The majority of zinc-finger proteins contain a Kr_ppel-type DNA binding domain and a KRAB domain, which is thought to interact with KAP1, thereby recruiting histone modifying proteins. ZNF266 is a 549 amino acid nuclear protein belonging to the Kr_ppel C2H2-type zinc finger protein family. ZNF266 has one KRAB domain and fourteen C2H2 zinc fingers. Due to the presence of these domains, ZNF266 is thought to be involved in transcriptional regulation. Repression of ZNF266 results in the blocking of erythroid differentiation and partial blocking of megakaryocytic differentiation, possibly indicating a role in the differentiation of erythroids and megakaryocytes.
