FLVCR is responsible for the exportation of cytoplasmic heme groups. It is believed that it may protect developing erythroid cells from heme toxicity. Expression of FLVCR in cells will cause susceptibility to FeLV-C (Feline leukaemia virus subgroup C) in vitro. FLVCR is found in all hematopoietic tissues, including peripheral blood lymphocytes and fetal liver, and some expression is found in pancreas and kidney. It is down-regulated in haemopoietic progenitor cells undergoing differentiation and hemoglobinization.

This protein belongs to a G protein coupled heptahelical receptor subfamily named Endothelial Cell Differentiation Genes (EDG)that act as receptors for biologically active lysophospholipids. This group consists of two receptor subgroups specific for S1P and LPA respectively. EDG6 is the receptor for lysophospholipid sphingosine 1 phosphate (S1P). S1P elicits diverse physiological effect on most types of cells and tissues. EDG6 may be involved in cell migration processes that are specific for lymphocytes.

Hoechst dyes are cell membrane-permeant, minor groove-binding blue fluorescent DNA stains. Hoechst dyes are widely used in cell cycle and apoptosis studies and also as nuclear counterstains. Biotium also offers Hoechst 33258, 10 mg/ml in dH2O (#40044). Hoechst 33258 and Hoechst 33342 are spectrally similar. Hoechst 33528 is slightly more water soluble than Hoechst 33342, but both dyes are widely used in cell cycle and apoptosis studies and also as nuclear counterstains. They are typically used to stain live or fixed cells in buffer or medium at 1 ug/mL, with no wash step required.

Description:
ADRM1 is a 407 amino acid protein that localizes to both the nucleus and the cytoplasm and is thought to be involved in protein recruitment and cell adhesion. An integral membrane protein, ADRM1 functions to recruit UCH-L5, a deubiquitinating enzyme, to the 26S proteasome, and once at the proteasome it promotes the activity of UCH-L5. Additionally, ADRM1 is thought to mediate lymphocyte adhesion in endothelial cells and may thus play a role in lymphocyte homing. ADRM1 expression is induced by IFN-g in some cancer cell lines and its expression is upregulated in other metastatic cells, suggesting a role in carcinogenesis. Two isoforms of ADRM1 exist due to alternative splicing events.
