Description:
The protein encoded by this gene is a dual specificity protein kinase that belongs to the MAP kinase kinase family. This kinase is known to play a critical role in mitogen growth factor signal transduction. It phosphorylates and thus activates MAPK1/ERK2 and MAPK2/ERK3. The activation of this kinase itself is dependent on the Ser/Thr phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinase kinases. Mutations in this gene cause cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome (CFC syndrome), a disease characterised by heart defects, mental retardation, and distinctive facial features similar to those found in Noonan syndrome. The inhibition or degradation of this kinase is also found to be involved in the pathogenesis of Yersinia and anthrax. A pseudogene, which is located on chromosome 7, has been identified for this gene.

Description:
PP2A is the major phosphatase for microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs). PP2A can modulate the activity of phosphorylase B kinase casein kinase 2, mitogen-stimulated S6 kinase, and MAP-2 kinase. Cooperates with SGOL2 to protect centromeric cohesin from separase-mediated cleavage in oocytes specifically during meiosis I (By similarity). Can dephosphorylate SV4 large T antigen and p53/TP53. Activates RAF1 by dephosphorylating it at 'Ser-259'.

Description:
This gene encodes a member of the NF-kappa-B inhibitor family, which contain multiple ankrin repeat domains. The encoded protein interacts with REL dimers to inhibit NF-kappa-B/REL complexes which are involved in inflammatory responses. The encoded protein moves between the cytoplasm and the nucleus via a nuclear localization signal and CRM1-mediated nuclear export. Mutations in this gene have been found in ectodermal dysplasia anhidrotic with T-cell immunodeficiency autosomal dominant disease. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011].

Defensins form a family of microbicidal and cytotoxic peptides made by neutrophils. Members of the defensin family are highly similar in protein sequence. This gene encodes defensin, beta 4, an antibiotic peptide which is locally regulated by inflammation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Description:
DUX3 belongs to the paired homeobox family and contains 2 homeobox DNA-binding domains. It expressed in hepatoma Hep3B cells. DUX genes are present in 3.3-kilobase elements, a tandem repeat family scattered in the genome found on the short arms of all acrocentric chromosomes as well as on several other chromosomes. May be functional despite lack of introns and of a poly(A) addition signal. Two different isoforms are known.

TRITC (Tetramethylrhodamine isothiocyanate) is a popular rhodamine derivative pink in Colour but emits a red-orange Colour upon Emission at 580 nm. TRITC is frequently paired with FITC in double labeling experiments and conjugated antibodies are often used in immunofluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, FLISA (fluorescent ELISA) and high throughput screening assays. These conjugates are best excited with the 532 nm spectral line of the He-Ne laser and are also recommended as a second Colour detection reagent in in situ hybridization applications. (Excitation/Emission = 555 nm/580 nm Emission Colour = Orange to Red (Similar Dyes: Alexa Fluor 555, Cy3, DyLight 550).

The ImmunoReagents DyLight® 800 conjugates uses a near-IR fluorphore that is invisible to the naked eye but increases the staining options when using infrared imaging systems. DyLight® 800 has spectral properties that are very similar to other near-IR dyes, including Alexa Fluor 790 and IRDye 800, and has high solubility for maximal incorporation of the dye into the biomolecule of interest. Excitation/Emission = 777 nm / 794 nm Emission Color = Near IR (Similar Dyes: Alexa Fluor 790, IRDye 800).

Description:
This antibody recognizes a ~90-95 kDa protein which is identified as cell surface transferrin receptor (CD71), a disulfide-bonded homodimeric glycoprotein of 180-190 kDa. This MAb is highly specific to CD71 and shows no cross-reaction with other related proteins. Its epitope is localized in the extracellular domain of CD71. Ligand for transferrin receptor is the serum iron transport protein, transferrin. This receptor is broadly distributed in carcinomas, sarcomas, leukemias, and lymphomas. CD71/Transferrin receptor has been reported to be associated with cell proliferation in both normal and neoplastic tissues and useful in predicting clinical behavior or response to therapy in a number of malignancies including breast cancer.

Description:
FUSIP1 is a member of the Serine/Arginine (SR) family of splicing factors. Members of the SR family all contain one or more RNA recognition motifs (RRM) and an SR-rich domain. SR factors are not only essential for constitutive splicing but also regulate splicing in a concentration-dependent manner by influencing the selection of alternative splice sites. Expressed in a variety of tissues with low expression in kidney, liver and heart, FUSIP1 localizes to the cytoplasm and nuclear speckles. In its dephosphorylated form (occurring during M phase of the cell cycle), FUSIP1 functions as a potent general repressor of pre-mRNA splicing and can interact with U1 SnRNP 70. In its phosphorylated form, FUSIP1 interacts with Tra-2∫ and, together, they may cooperate in the regulation of splicing. Four isoforms exist for FUSIP1. In neurons, FUSIP1 isoforms may act to either positively or negatively regulate alternative splicing.

Description:
Recognizes a protein of 104 kDa-110 kDa, characterized as major vault protein (MVP). Vaults are large ribonucleoprotein particles (RNPs) present in all eukaryotic cells. They have a complex morphology, including several small molecules of RNA, but a single protein species. The MVP accounts for >70% of their mass. Their shape is reminiscent of the nucleopore central plug. Treatment of cells with estradiol increases the amount of MVP in nuclear extract. The hormone-dependent interaction of vaults with ER is prevented in vitro by sodium molybdate. Antibodies to estrogen, progesterone and glucocorticoid receptors are able to co-immunoprecipitate the MVP. MVP is overexpressed in many neoplastic tissues and cell lines. Expression of MVP predicts a poor response to chemotherapy.
