Description:
The function of this protein has not been determined. The protein encoded by this gene has homologs that have been identified in mouse and macaque. The mouse and human proteins have a putative prenyl group binding site (CAAX box) at their C-terminus. A diverse list of proteins are known or strongly presumed to be the target of post-translational modification by the attachment of either a farnesyl or a geranyl-geranyl group to a cysteine residue at the C-terminus. The function of this protein has not been determined.
Description:
EED is a member of the Polycomb-group (PcG) family. PcG family members form multimeric protein complexes, which are involved in maintaining the transcriptional repressive state of genes over successive cell generations. This protein interacts with enhancer of zeste 2, the cytoplasmic tail of integrin beta7, immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) MA protein, and histone deacetylase proteins. This protein mediates repression of gene activity through histone deacetylation, and may act as a specific regulator of integrin function. This gene encodes a member of the Polycomb-group (PcG) family. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
Description:
NR5A2 binds to the sequence element 5'-AACGACCGACCTTGAG-3' of the enhancer II of hepatitis B virus genes, a critical cis-element of their expression and regulation. It may be responsable for the liver-specific activity of enhancer II, probably in combination with other hepatocyte transcription factors. It is a key regulator of cholesterol 7-alpha-hydroxylase gene (CYP7A) expression in liver. It may also contribute to the regulation of pancreas-specific genes and play important roles in embryonic development.
Description:
ZNF177 contains 1 KRAB domain and 7 C2H2-type zinc fingers. ZNF177 belongs to the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. And it may be involved in transcriptional regulation.
Description:
Aryl sulfatase B (ARSB) forms a homodimer that hydrolyzes sulfate groups of N-Acetyl-D-galactosamine, chondriotin sulfate, and dermatan sulfate. ARSB localizes to the lysozyme as well as to the extracellular matrix. Mucopolysaccharidosis type VI is an autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorder resulting from a deficiency of arylsulfatase B (3), and can be treated with exogenous ARSB.
Description:
APRIL is a cytokine that belongs to the TNF superfamily and binds to TACI and BCMA. It is implicated in the regulation of tumour cell growth, is involved in monocyte/macrophage-mediated immunological processes and functions as an important survival factor for plasmablasts and bone marrow plasma cells. MultimericAPRIL™ is a high activity construct in which two trimeric APRIL ligands are artificially linked via the collagen domain of ACRP30. This construct very effectively stimulates proliferation B cell. A basic amino acid sequence (QKQKKQ) close to the NH2 terminus of APRIL is required for binding to negatively charged sulphated glycosaminoglycan side chains of proteoglycans. Proteoglycans mediate binding of APRIL to tumour cells as well as primary lymphoid cells.
Description:
Tumour necrosis factor (TNF, cachexin or cachectin and formerly known as tumour necrosis factor-alpha) is a cytokine involved in systemic inflammation and is a member of a group of cytokines that stimulate the acute phase reaction. MultimericTNF-alpha™ is a high activity construct in which two trimeric TNF-alpha ligands are artificially linked via the collagen domain of ACRP30. The receptor TNF-R1 is activated by both the membrane-bound and soluble trimeric forms of TNF-alpha, whereas the receptor TNF-R2 only responds to the membrane-bound form of TNF-alpha (TNF-alpha (human) (multimeric) (rec. ) (Prod. No. AG-40B-0019). Since the MultimericTNF-alpha™ mimics the membrane-bound form (forms oligomers higher than trimer), it is the only TNF-alpha protein that can activate the TNF-R2. For TNF-R1 activation, either "normal" TNF-alpha or MultimericTNF-alpha™ can be used.
Description:
Arylsulfatase A (ARSA) is a lysosomal enzyme that breaks down Cerebroside 3-Sulfate, a major constituent of the myelin sheet, into Cerebroside and Sulfate. The ARSA deficiency results in Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD), a lysosomal storage disease in the central and peripheral nervous systems with severe and progressive neurological symptoms. Recombinant Human ARSA corresponds to the ARSA mature peptide and has sulfatase activity.
Description:
Basal transcription of genes by RNA polymerase II requires the interaction of TATA-binding protein (TBP) with the core region of class II promoters. Studies in mouse suggest that the protein encoded by ABT1 likely activates basal transcription from class II promoters by interaction with TBP and the class II promoter DNA.
Description:
HOXD12 belongs to the homeobox family of genes. The homeobox genes encode a highly conserved family of transcription factors that play an important role in morphogenesis in all multicellular organisms. Mammals possess four similar homeobox gene clusters, HOXA, HOXB, HOXC and HOXD, located on different chromosomes, consisting of 9 to 11 genes arranged in tandem. This gene is one of several homeobox HOXD genes located in a cluster on chromosome 2. Deletions that remove the entire HOXD gene cluster or the 5' end of this cluster have been associated with severe limb and genital abnormalities. The exact role of this gene has not been determined.
Description:
FOXA1 is a member of the forkhead class of DNA-binding proteins. These hepatocyte nuclear factors are transcriptional activators for liver-specific transcripts such as albumin and transthyretin, and they also interact with chromatin. Similar family members in mice have roles in the regulation of metabolism and in the differentiation of the pancreas and liver. This gene encodes a member of the forkhead class of DNA-binding proteins. Description:
CD40 is a Type I Transmembrane Glycoprotein that belongs to the TNF Receptor Superfamily. CD40 is expressed in B cells, follicular dendritic cells, dendritic cells, activated monocytes, macrophages, endothelial cells, vascular smooth muscle cells, and several tumor cell lines. The extracellular domain of CD40 is characterized by Cysteine rich repeat regions. Interaction of CD40 with its ligand (CD40L) leads to aggregation of CD40 molecules, which in turn interact with cytoplasmic components to initiate signaling pathways. Several different TRAF proteins (adaptor proteins) have been identified to serves as mediators of the signal transduction. CD40 plays an essential role in mediating a broad variety of immune and inflammatory responses including T cell-dependent immunoglobulin class switching, memory B cell development, and germinal center formation.
