Description:
PADI4 (peptidyl arginine deiminase, type IV) catalyzes the deimination of arginine residues of proteins. Down-regulates histone H3 and H4 arginine methylation, both by preventing arginine methylation by CARM1 and HRMT1L2/PRMT1 and by converting methylarginine to citrulline. subcellular location at cytoplasmic granules. Belongs to the protein arginine deiminase family. This gene may play a role in granulocyte and macrophage development leading to inflammation and immune response.

Description:
Cystatin A and cystatin B (also designated PME, CST6, STFB, CPI-B, stefin B and liver thiol proteinase inhibitor) are thiol protease inhibitors that form complexes with papain and the cathepsins B, H, and L. Cystatin A, a cytoplasmic protein, is one of the precursor proteins of the cornified cell envelope in keratinocytes and plays a role in epidermal development and maintenance. Cystatin B protects against intracellular proteases leaking out of lysosomes and is primarily expressed in heart, liver and kidney.

Description:
Non-receptor protein-tyrosine kinase that plays an essential role in regulating cell migration, adhesion, spreading, reorganisation of the actin cytoskeleton, formation and disassembly of focal adhesions and cell protrusions, cell cycle progression, cell proliferation and apoptosis. Required for early embryonic development and placenta development. Required for embryonic angiogenesis, normal cardiomyocyte migration and proliferation, and normal heart development. Regulates axon growth and neuronal cell migration, axon branching and synapse formation; required for normal development of the nervous system. Plays a role in osteogenesis and differentiation of osteoblasts. Functions in integrin signal transduction, but also in signaling downstream of numerous growth factor receptors, G-protein coupled receptors (GPCR), EPHA2, netrin receptors and LDL receptors. Forms multisubunit signaling complexes with SRC and SRC family members upon activation; this leads to the phosphorylation of additional tyrosine residues, creating binding sites for scaffold proteins, effectors and substrates. Regulates numerous signaling pathways. Promotes activation of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase and the AKT1 signaling cascade. Promotes activation of MAPK1/ERK2, MAPK3/ERK1 and the MAP kinase signaling cascade. Promotes localised and transient activation of guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) and GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs), and thereby modulates the activity of Rho family GTPases. Signaling via CAS family members mediates activation of RAC1. Recruits the ubiquitin ligase MDM2 to P53/TP53 in the nucleus, and thereby regulates P53/TP53 activity, P53/TP53 ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation.

Description:
GARNL1 is expressed during embryogenesis with E12. During development, GARNL1 expression decreases, persisting at high levels only in neurons of the adult brain. GARNL1 localizes to the cytoplasm where it may play a role regulating GTP hydrolysis of proteins such as Ran and Rap. GARNL1 is imported to the nucleus via dimerization with E12. GARNL1 interacts with the HLH region of E12 and may function to negatively regulate the transcription of E12-dependent downstream target genes. This suggests that at least a portion of the function of GARNL1 is dependent upon its association with E12. GARNL1 may also associate with other HLH proteins and influence a variety of HLH signaling cascades. In adult brain, GARNL1 activity does not involve E12 and therefore it may serve a different function in developed neural tissue.

Description:
Cyanine 5-dUTP can replace TTP in reactions in which it serves as a substrate for E. coli DNA polymerase (holoenzyme and Klenow fragment), T4 and Taq DNA polymerases, reverse transcriptase (from AMV and M-MuLV) and terminal transferase. Fluorescently labeled probes can be prepared with this fluorescent nucleotide by a variety of methods including nick translation, cDNA labeling and 3’-end labeling. Probes generated by these methods are suitable for use for the identification of specific sequences by in situ hybridization procedures on fixed cells and tissues by direct fluorescence detection. Cyanine 5-dUTP can also be used for multicolor fluorescence labeling.
