Description:
BAMBI is a membrane spanning glycoprotein that acts as a negative regulator of TGF-beta signaling during development. The BAMBI family of proteins are related to type I TGF-beta receptor family, however, BAMBI is a pseudoreceptor that lacks an intracellular serine/threonine kinase domain. BAMBI transcription regulation is under the influence of beta-catenin, BMP, smad3 and smad4. BAMBI expression can increase in colorectal and hepatocellular carcinomas relative to non-cancerous tissues. BAMBI is expressed at high levels during odontogenesis. BAMBI is coexpressed with Bmp-4 during early Xenopus embryogenesis and can be detected in poorly metastatic human melanoma cell lines.

Description:
Contactins mediate cell surface interactions during nervous system development. Participates in oligodendrocytes generation by acting as a ligand of NOTCH1. Its association with NOTCH1 promotes NOTCH1 activation through the released notch intracellular domain (NICD) and subsequent translocation to the nucleus. Involved in motor coordination. Tissue specificity: Expressed in nervous system. Highly expressed in cerebellum. Expressed at intermediate level in thalamus, subthalamic nucleus. Weakly expressed in corpus callosum, caudate nucleus and spinal cord. Similarity: Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Contactin family. Contains 4 fibronectin type-III domains. Contains 6 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains.

Description:
May participate in the regulation of T-cell-mediated immune response. May play a protective role in tumor cells by inhibiting natural-killer mediated cell lysis as well as a role of marker for detection of neuroblastoma cells. May be involved in the development of acute and chronic transplant rejection and in the regulation of lymphocytic activity at mucosal surfaces. Could also play a key role in providing the placenta and fetus with a suitable immunological environment throughout pregnancy. Both isoform 1 and isoform 2 appear to be redundant in their ability to modulate CD4 T-cell responses. Isoform 2 is shown to enhance the induction of cytotoxic T-cells and selectively stimulates interferon gamma production in the presence of T-cell receptor signaling.

Description:
Dbx1 homeodomain transcription factor is expressed in progenitors at the boundary between the dorsal and ventral plates of the caudal neural tube, from which postmitotic cells migrate tangentially to their final destination. Dbx1 is implicated in patterning the central nervous system during embryogenesis. Cell fate allocation and cell diversity are determined at very early stages in progenitor cells at precise coordinates along the dorsoventral and anteroposterior axis. In the spinal cord, the spatially restricted expression of Dbx1 in progenitors is critical in establishing interneuron cell fates and helps coordinate diverse phenotypic features. In the telencephalon, Dbx1 is expressed in restricted progenitor domains at the borders of the developing pallium.

Description:
The apolipoprotein L gene family maps to a region on chromosome 22 and encodes six highly homologous proteins designated apoL-I, apoL-II, apoL-III, apoL-IV, apoL-V and apoL-VI, all of which function as components of plasma lipoproteins. ApoL-V (apolipoprotein L-V), also known as APOL5, is a 433 amino acid protein that localizes to the cytoplasm and belongs to the apolipoprotein L family. Expressed in a variety of tissues including testis, stomach, uterus and skeletal muscle, apoL-V is thought to affect the movement of lipids in the cytoplasm and may allow the binding of lipids to organelles. Like other members of the apolipoprotein L family, apoL-V is thought to be involved in the development of schizophrenia.

Description:
Ubiquitin-dependent proteolysis mediates selective destruction of various cell cycle regulators, transcription factors and tumor suppressors. In eukaryotic cells, selective breakdown of cellular proteins is ensured by their ubiquitination and subsequent degradation by the 26S proteasome. At specific stages of development, embryo- and tissue-specific components of the 26S proteasome form, facilitating proteolysis. 20S Proteasome ?, also designated macropain subunit C2 or PROS-30, is a prosomal protein involved in a non-lysosomal ATP/ubiquitin-dependent proteolytic pathway. The entire proteasome is composed of at least 15 non-identical subunits which form a highly-ordered ring-shaped structure.

MICRONOVA
Description:
Saturated crepe paper/synthetic poly isoprene adhesive in plastic core. It is a proven method of positively confirming a completed sterilisation cycle in both gravity discharge and vacuum autoclaves. Green indicator lines change to black when proper levels of steam pressure and temperature have been achieved. After use, the tape removes quickly and completely, leaving minimal residue or staining.

Description:
Transcription factor that binds and activates the promoter of thyroid specific genes such as thyroglobulin, thyroperoxidase, and thyrotropin receptor. Crucial in the maintenance of the thyroid differentiation phenotype. May play a role in lung development and surfactant homeostasis. Activates the transcription of GNRHR and plays a role in enhancing the circadian oscillation of its gene expression. Represses the transcription of the circadian transcriptional repressor NR1D1 (By similarity).

Description:
The membrane-associated protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intracellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the ABC1 subfamily. Members of the ABC1 subfamily comprise the only major ABC subfamily found exclusively in multicellular eukaryotes. This protein is highly expressed in brain tissue and may play a role in macrophage lipid metabolism and neural development. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene (from EntrezGene).

Description:
CRP2 is a 193 amino acid nuclear protein that belongs to the CRP family of LIM domain proteins. Highly expressed in smooth muscle of aorta, CRP2 is thought to have a role in embryonic vascular system development and is downregulated following cell injury or PDGF-B exposure. CRP2 contains two LIM zinc-binding domains and is encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 12, which encodes over 1,100 genes and comprises approximately 4.5% of the human genome. Chromosome 12 is associated with a variety of diseases and afflictions, including hypochondrogenesis, achondrogenesis, Kniest dysplasia, Noonan syndrome and trisomy 12p, which causes facial developmental defects and seizure disorders.
