Description:
TUNEL (terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT) mediated dUTP nick-end labeling) is highly selective for the detection of apoptotic cells, but not necrotic cells or cells with DNA strand breaks resulting from irradiation or drug treatment. In this assay, TdT enzyme catalyses the addition of labeled dUTP to the 3’ ends of cleaved DNA fragments. Fluorescent dye-conjugated dUTP can be used for direct detection of fragmented DNA by fluorescence microscopy or flow cytometry.

Recognizes a single chain glycoprotein of 70 kDa, identified as CD55 (also known as decay accelerating factor, DAF). This MAb was clustered in Kobe at the Sixth International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens as F429D-9 (N-L120). CD55/DAF is widely expressed on cells throughout the body including leukocytes, erythrocytes, epithelium, endothelium, and fibroblasts. It is a Glycosyl phosphatidylinositol anchored (GPI-anchored) member of the membrane bound complement regulatory proteins that inhibit autologous complement cascade activation. It prevents the amplification steps of the complement cascade by interfering with the assembly of the C3-convertases, C4b2a and C3bBb, and the C5-convertase, C4b2a3b and C3bBb3b. CD55 also serves as receptor for CD97 and for echovirus and Coxsackie B virus. Anti-CD55 can be used as marker for paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH).

There are three protocadherin gene clusters, designated a, b and g, all of which contain multiple tandemly-arranged genes. PCDHB10 (protocadherin b10), also known as PCHB10 or PCDH-b10, is an 800 amino acid protein that is one of 16 proteins in the protocadherin b cluster. Unlike the a and g gene clusters, whose genes are spliced to downstream constant-region exons during transcription, members of the b cluster (such as PCDHB10) do not use constant-region exons to produce mRNAs. As a result, each protocadherin b gene encodes the transmembrane, extracellular and short cytoplasmic domains of the protein. Lorsqu'un sachet AnaeroGen est placé dans un récipient étanche, l'oxygène atmosphérique dans le récipient est rapidement absorbé et du dioxyde de carbone est généré simultanément. Cette nouvelle méthode se distingue des autres méthodes couramment utilisées par le fait que la réaction se produit sans dégagement d'hydrogène et ne nécessite donc pas de catalyseur. En outre, l'eau n'est pas nécessaire pour activer la réaction. Lorsqu'il est utilisé selon les instructions, le sachet AnaeroGen permet de réduire le niveau d'oxygène dans le récipient à moins de 1% en 30 minutes. Le niveau de dioxyde de carbone qui en résulte est compris entre 9% et 13%.

Aberrant levels are associated with immune deficiency states, hereditary deficiencies, myeloma, Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia, chronic infection and hepatocellular disease. This MAb is useful in the identification of leukemias, plasmacytomas, and certain non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. The most common feature of these malignancies is the restricted expression of a single heavy chain class. Demonstration of clonality in lymphoid infiltrates indicates that the infiltrate is clonal and therefore malignant.

The UDP-N-acetyl-alpha-D-galactosamine:polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase (GalNAc-T) family of enzymes are substrate-specific proteins that catalyze the transfer of GalNAc (N-acetylgalactosamine) to serine and threonine residues onto various proteins, thereby initiating mucin-type O-linked glycosylation in the Golgi apparatus. GalNAc-T1, also known as GALNT1 (Polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 1), is a ubiquitously expressed 559 amino acid single-pass type II membrane protein that localizes to the Golgi apparatus and, like other GalNAc-Ts, contains a stem region and a C-terminal ricin/lectin-like domain. GalNAc-T1 catalyzes the first reaction in O-linked oligosaccharide biosynthesis, namely the transfer of an N-acetyl-D-galactosamine residue to a protein acceptor. GalNAc-T1 uses calcium and manganese as cofactors. Due to alternative splicing events, two GalNAc-T1 isoforms are expressed.
