It is also used in pre-extraction of membranes to remove peripheral proteins & as a blocking agent on nitrocellulose at a typical concentration of 0.05%. Benzyl alcohol (BnOH) is a monoaromatic primary alcohol widely used as a solvent and an intermediate in cosmetic formulations, pharmaceutical and flavor/fragrance industries.
