NuMA (Nuclear Mitotic Apparatus Protein) is an intranuclear protein and present in nucleus during interphase. At the onset of mitosis, it redistributes from the nucleus to two centrosomal structures that later will become part of the mitotic spindle pole. After anaphase, the protein redistributes from the spindle polar region into reforming nucleus. NuMA is an essential protein during mitosis for the terminal phases of chromosome separation and/or nuclear reassembly. Recently a study shows that NuMA is cleaved to a 180 to 200kDa during apoptosis.

IL11 shares many functions of IL6 and LIF, including potentiation of megakaryocyte activity, enhancement of human myeloma cell proliferation, and enhancement of hepatic acute phase protein production.Interleukin 11 directly stimulates the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and megakaryocyte progenitor cells, and induces megakaryocyte maturation resulting in increased platelet production. Clinically it is used to prevent severe thrombocytopenia and the reduction of the need for platelet transfusion following myelosuppressive chemotherapy.

C5b-9, also known as the terminal complement complex (TCC), consists of C5b, C6, C7, C8 and C9, and it forms the membrane attack complex (MAC) as well as the non-lytic fluid-phase SC5b-9 complex (with protein S). The MAC forms channels in target cell membranes leading to cell lysis by osmotic leakage. The complexes contain neoantigens absent from the individual native components from which they are formed, and the antibody is directed against a neoepitope exposed on C9 when incorporated into the TCC.
