Synaptobrevins/VAMPs, syntaxins, and the 25-kD synaptosomal-associated protein are the main components of a protein complex involved in the docking and/or fusion of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic membrane. This gene is a member of the vesicle-associated membrane protein (VAMP)/synaptobrevin family. Because of its high homology to other known VAMPs, its broad tissue distribution, and its subcellular localization, the protein encoded by this gene was shown to be the human equivalent of the rodent cellubrevin. In platelets the protein resides on a compartment that is not mobilized to the plasma membrane on calcium or thrombin stimulation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].

The BC96 antibody is specific for human CD25, a 55 kDa surface protein also known as the Interleukin-2 Receptor alpha chain, or IL-2R alpha. CD25 may bind IL-2 by itself, although with low affinity and without induction of cell signaling. CD25 is also expressed within a high-affinity complex, along with the IL-2R beta chain (CD122) and the common gamma chain (CD132), to form a signaling receptor complex. Signaling via CD25 may modulate Th17 and Treg cell differentiation, and has been shown to play a role in the function of dendritic cells.

The DTA-1 antibody reacts with mouse CD357, also known as GITR or AITR (in humans), a 66-70 kDa member of the Tumor Necrosis Factor superfamily (TNFRSF18). GITR is primarily found on T cells, and its function may vary depending on the T cell type where it is expressed. GITR is upregulated on activated T cells where it provides co-stimulation, yet GITR may promote the inhibition of CD4+ CD25+ Treg cells, where it is expressed at high levels. Relaxin Receptor 3 is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds Relaxin 3 and influences differentiation and maintenance of the nervous system. Relaxin Receptor 3 shares sequence similarity with somatostatin receptors and angiotensin receptors. It mediates central processing of sensory signals in the rat and is thought to be a modulator of stress responses. Relaxin Receptor 3 is present in the brain, with highest expression in substantia nigra and pituitary, followed by hippocampus, spinal cord, amygdala, caudate nucleus and corpus callosum, and low level expression in cerebellum. Anaphylatoxin, a chemotactic and inflammatory peptide, is a receptor for C5a anaphylatoxin chemotactic receptor (C5L2), also designated G protein-coupled receptor 77. C5L2 is an integral membrane protein that belongs to the Gprotein-coupled receptor 1 family. C5L2 weakly couples to Gi-mediated signaling pathways and is widely expressed in the hippocampus, hypothalamus, pons, frontal cortex and liver. It is coexpressed with the C5a receptor (C5AR) on polymorphonuclear neutrophils and may modulate the activity of C5AR. The function of the C5a receptors, particularly that of C5L2, is still unclear. The interleukin 2 (IL2) receptor alpha (IL2RA) and beta (IL2RB) chains, together with the common gamma chain (IL2RG), constitute the high-affinity IL2 receptor. Homodimeric alpha chains (IL2RA) result in low-affinity receptor, while homodimeric beta (IL2RB) chains produce a medium-affinity receptor. Normally an integral-membrane protein, soluble IL2RA has been isolated and determined to result from extracellular proteolyisis. Alternately-spliced IL2RA mRNAs have been isolated, but the significance of each is presently unknown.
