Recognizes a non-polymorphic determinant of DP-MHC class II. MHC class II antigens are transmembrane glycoproteins of non-covalently linked α (33-35 kDa) and β (27-30 kDa) chains. It reportedly reacts with B- & non-T, non-B cell lines but not with T- and myeloid cell lines and leukemias. Differential expression of MHC class II antigens on fetal and adult lymphocytes, malignant B cells appears to reflect the stage of cell differentiation which may be useful in the study of lymphoproliferative disorders.

AKT1-specific substrates have been recently identified, including palladin (PALLD), which phosphorylation modulates cytoskeletal organization and cell motility; prohibitin (PHB), playing an important role in cell metabolism and proliferation; and CDKN1A, for which phosphorylation at 'Thr-145' induces its release from CDK2 and cytoplasmic relocalisation. Interleukin 11 is a pleiotropic cytokine produced by mesenchymal-derived adherent cells. IL11 shares many functions of IL6 and LIF, including potentiation of megakaryocyte activity, enhancement of human myeloma cell proliferation, and enhancement of hepatic acute phase protein production.Interleukin 11 directly stimulates the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and megakaryocyte progenitor cells, and induces megakaryocyte maturation resulting in increased platelet production. Clinically it is used to prevent severe thrombocytopenia and the reduction of the need for platelet transfusion following myelosuppressive chemotherapy.

Description:
Interferon (IFN) Inducible 16 (IFI16) protein belongs to a family of HIN 200 human and mouse proteins. IFI16 is a nuclear protein comtaining regulatory domains such as DNA binding domain, transcriptional regulatory domain and DAPIN/PAAD domain. IFI16 has three isotypes A, B, and C (85-95 kDa), which arise as a result of mRNA alternative splicing. All are phosphorylated on serine and threonine residues and can homo and heterodimerize. Expression is restricted to the nuclei of hematopoietic cells, fibroblasts and epithelial cells. IFI16 expression in hematopoietic cells of myeloid lineage is tightly regulated and highly induced in the differentiation and proliferation of the cell. Due to its localisation in the nucleus, regulation of protein expression, and ability to bind DNA, it is assumed that IFI16 has a role in transcription regulation of cell differentiation. In addition, it was found that IFI16 can act as a transcriptional repressor and is involved in regulation and activation of p53 in cancer cells.
