CHRDL2 is a novel chordin like protein that can act as a BMP antagonist. Amember of the chordin family of proteins, it contains a signal peptide andthree CR (cysteine-rich repeat) domains. When expressed as a recombinantprotein it is secreted and binds to activin A, but not to BMP-2, -4, -6. Differential expression has been detected in developing chondrocytes, myoblasts, osteoblasts, and osteoarthritic joints. Complex alternative splicing of CHRDL2 potentially results in distinct isoforms that differ at their C termini, in the expression of signal peptide, and in the content of CR domains. CHRDL2 was originally characterized as a novel protein exclusively expressed in breast, lung, and colon tumors.

Recognizes a single protein of 33-34 kDa, identified as the prostate specific antigen (PSA). This MAb is highly specific to PSA and stains prostatic secretory and ductal epithelium in both normal and neoplastic tissues. PSA is a chymotrypsin-like serine protease (kallikrein family) exclusively produced by the prostate epithelium, and abundant in seminal fluid. PSA can be detected in the sera of patients with prostatic carcinoma. It is predominantly complexed to a liver-derived serine protease inhibitor, alpha-1-antichymotrypsin (ACT). A higher proportion of serum PSA is complexed to ACT in prostate cancer than in benign prostate hyperplasia.

IGFBPs serve as shuttle molecules for both IGF-I and IGF-II and confer a level of regulation to the IGF Signalling system by influencing the bio-availability, concentration and distribution of IGFs in the extracellular environment. In human circulation, the IGF-binging protein complex requires ALS (IGFBP acid-labile subunit), an extracellular protein involved in receptor-ligand binding and cell adhesion. The small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) family of proteins contains various proteins such as Decorin, Biglycan, Fibromodulin, Keratocan, Lumican, Osteoadherin and Osteoglycin. These proteins all have similar functions as they all mediate extracellular matrix organization and act as binding partners of TGF beta. Osteoglycin, which also may be designated osteoinductive factor (OIF), is a secreted protein detected in bone tissues.
