Description:   Subunit of cyclic nucleotide-gated (CNG) channels, nonselective cation channels, which play important roles in both visual and olfactory signal transduction. When associated with CNGA1, it is involved in the regulation of ion flow into the rod photoreceptor outer segment (ROS), in response to light-induced alteration of the levels of intracellular cGMP. Isoform GARP2 is a high affinity rod photoreceptor phosphodiesterase (PDE6)-binding protein that modulates its catalytic properties: it is a regulator of spontaneous activation of rod PDE6, thereby serving to lower rod photoreceptor 'dark noise' and allowing these sensory cells to operate at the single photon detection limit.

Description:   B cell adapter molecule is also designated dual adapter for phosphotyrosine and 3-phosphotyrosine and 3-phosphoinositide (DAPP1) or B lymphocyte adapter protein. BAM32 is a B cell-associated adapter that is crucial for B cell antigen receptor signaling regulation. BAM32 interacts with Ptdlns and PLC g2 and, upon B cell activation, the protein is phosphorylated on tyrosine residues. It is a mainly cytoplasmic protein that can translocate to the cell membrane after cell stimulation. BAM32, which contains one PH domain and one SH2 domain, is primarily expressed in placenta and lung tissues, but can also be detected in heart, liver, pancreas and brain.

Description:   CHRDL2 is a novel chordin like protein that can act as a BMP antagonist. Amember of the chordin family of proteins, it contains a signal peptide andthree CR (cysteine-rich repeat) domains. When expressed as a recombinantprotein it is secreted and binds to activin A, but not to BMP-2, -4, -6. Differential expression has been detected in developing chondrocytes, myoblasts, osteoblasts, and osteoarthritic joints. Complex alternative splicing of CHRDL2 potentially results in distinct isoforms that differ at their C termini, in the expression of signal peptide, and in the content of CR domains. CHRDL2 was originally characterized as a novel protein exclusively expressed in breast, lung, and colon tumors.

Description:   Protein phosphorylation is a fundamental event in the regulation of a large number of intracellular processes. Phosphorylation of specific tyrosine residues is the result of activation or stimulation of their respective protein tyrosine kinases. The phosphorylated proteins can be auto-phosphorylated kinases or certain cellular protein substrates. Tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins are involved in signal transduction and in the regulation of cell proliferation. Antibody to phosphotyrosine provides an excellent tool for the detection, characterization, and purification of phosphotyrosine containing proteins. This MAb shows no cross-reaction with other phosphoamino acids and is superb for multiple applications including staining of formalin/paraffin tissues.

Description:   Recognizes a single protein of 33-34 kDa, identified as the prostate specific antigen (PSA). This MAb is highly specific to PSA and stains prostatic secretory and ductal epithelium in both normal and neoplastic tissues. PSA is a chymotrypsin-like serine protease (kallikrein family) exclusively produced by the prostate epithelium, and abundant in seminal fluid. PSA can be detected in the sera of patients with prostatic carcinoma. It is predominantly complexed to a liver-derived serine protease inhibitor, alpha-1-antichymotrypsin (ACT). A higher proportion of serum PSA is complexed to ACT in prostate cancer than in benign prostate hyperplasia.

Description:   Non-heme iron-containing dioxygenase that catalyzes the stereo-specific peroxidation of free and esterified polyunsaturated fatty acids generating a spectrum of bioactive lipid mediators. Converts arachidonic acid to 15S-hydroperoxyeicosatetraenoic acid/(15S)-HPETE. Also acts on linoleic acid to produce 13-hydroxyoctadecadienoic acid/13-HPODE. Has no detectable 8S-lipoxygenase activity but reacts with (8S)-HPETE to produce (8S,15S)-diHPETE. May regulate progression through the cell cycle and cell proliferation. May also regulate cytokine secretion by macrophages and therefore play a role in the immune response. May also regulate macrophage differentiation into proatherogenic foam cells.

Description:   The innate immune system detects viral infection by recognizing various viral components and triggers antiviral responses. Like the toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3), the cytoplasmic helicase retinoic acid inducible gene protein 1 (RIG1/DDX58) recognizes double-stranded (ds) RNA, a molecular pattern associated with viral infection. Unlike TLR3 however, RIG1/DDX58 activates the kinases TBK1 and IKKe through the adaptor protein IPS1. These kinases then phosphorylate the transcription factors IRF3 and IRF7 which are essential for the expression of type-I interferons. RIG1/DDX58 is required for the production of interferons in response to RNA viruses including paramyxoviruses, influenza virus, and Japanese encephalitis virus.

Description:   Recognizes a cluster of proteins between 70-80 kDa, identified as tyrosinase. Occasionally a minor band at 55 kDa is also detected. This MAb shows no cross-reaction with MAGE-1 and tyrosinase-related protein 1, TRP-1/gp75. Tyrosinase is a copper-containing metalloglycoprotein that catalyzes several steps in the melanin pigment biosynthetic pathway; the hydroxylation of tyrosine to L-3,4-dihydroxy-phenylalanine (dopa), and the subsequent oxidation of dopa to dopaquinone. Mutations of the tyrosinase gene occur in various forms of albinism. Tyrosinase is one of the targets for cytotoxic T-cell recognition in melanoma patients. Staining of melanomas with this MAb shows tyrosinase in melanotic as well as amelanotic variants. This MAb is a useful marker for melanocytes and melanomas.

Description:   G protein-coupled receptors (GPRs or GPCRs), are members of the largest protein family and play a role in many different stimulus-response pathways. G-protein coupled receptors mediate extracellular signals into intracellular signals (G-protein activation). They respond to a great variety of signaling molecules, including hormones, neurotransmitters and other proteins and peptides. GPR143, also designated ocular albinism type 1 protein (OA1), is detected exclusively in pigment cells. OA1, which is a multi-pass membrane protein, is a melanosomal protein expressed primarily in pigment cells. Defects in the gene encoding for OA1 cause ocular albinism, an X-linked disorder mainly characterized by retinal hypopigmentation and visual impairment.

Description:   ChREBP (Carbohydrate responsive element binding protein) is a transcription factor playing a critical role in the nutrient and hormonal regulation of genes encoding enzymes of glucose metabolism and lipogenesis pathways. It contains several domains including a nuclear localization signal (NLS) near the N-terminus, polyproline domains, a basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper (b/HLH/Zip) and a leucine zipper like (zip-like) domain.ChREBP is ubiquitously detected in various tissues, with highest expression in liver, kidney and white and brown adipose tissue. Under basal conditions ChREBP is localized in the cytosol, translocating into the nucleus upon high glucose stimulation following its dephosphorylation of serine 196.
