BOK Antibody: Apoptosis plays a major role in normal organism development, tissue homeostasis, and removal of damaged cells. Disruption of this process has been implicated in a variety of diseases such as cancer. The Bcl-2 family of proteins is comprised of critical regulators of apoptosis that can be divided into two classes: those that inhibit apoptosis and those that promote cell death. BOK, a pro-apoptotic Bcl-2 family member, was initially identified in the ovary, and was found to interact with other Bcl-2 family members such as Mcl-1 and Bfl-1. BOK expression is high during early placental development, suggesting that it may also play a role in regulating trophoblast cell proliferation.

Dact2 Antibody: The Wnt signaling cascade is a conserved process in multicellular animals that plays important roles during development and can contribute to cancer and other diseases. Many members of this pathway are also expressed in the postnatal tissues such as brain. One such protein is Dact2, a member of the Dact protein family that was initially identified through binding to Disheveled (Dvl), a cytoplasmic protein essential to Wnt signaling. Dact2 is most prominent during the development of the thymus kidneys, and salivary gland. Dact2 is thought to play a role distinct from that of Dact1 with Dact2 having a greater impact on a beta-catenin-independent process termed planar cell polarity/convergent-extension signaling. Furthermore, Dact2 but not Dact1 can inhibit Nodal signaling by promoting the endocytic degradation of TGF-beta receptors. At least two isoforms of Dact2 are known to exist.

Smooth muscle myosin heavy chain (SM-MHC) is a cytoplasmic structural protein, which is a major component of the contractile apparatus in smooth muscle cells. Expression of smooth muscle myosin is developmentally regulated, appearing early in smooth muscle development, and is specific for smooth muscle development. Two isoforms of smooth muscle myosin heavy chain have been identified, designated MHC-1 and MHC-2. The antibody may be useful for the study of breast tumors as the presence of an intact layer of myoepithelial cells is an important feature, which may distinguish benign breast lesions and carcinoma in situ from invasive tumors.

Stimulating T cells with CMV (IE-2) Peptide pool releases downstream cytokines and upregulates activation markers, enabling antigen-specific T cells to be detected or isolated for analysis. CMV (IE-2) Peptide pool is a lyophilised mixture of 143 peptides from immediate early protein 2 (IE2) of human cytomegalovirus (CMV; strain AD169), and consists of 15-mer peptides with 11-amino-acid overlaps that cover amino acids 1 to 580 on IE2. IE2 is critical for viral infection and for the expression of CMV early genes (Marchini <i>et al.</i>). It also controls transcription initiation for a subset of early-late and late viral promoters via RNA polymerase II (Li <i>et al.</i>). IE2, along with IE1, may contribute to the survival of CMV-infected cells by blocking tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α)-induced apoptosis (Zhu <i>et al.</i>). Viral peptide pools are useful for a broad range of applications, including vaccine development, immunological research, and diagnostic assay development.

A switch from alpha enolase to beta enolase occurs in muscle tissue during development in rodents. Interleukin-15 (IL-15) has a broad spectrum of biological activities. It is crucial for the development, proliferation, survival and differentiation of multiple cells from both innate and adaptive immune systems. IL-15 up-regulation has a central role in the development of several autoimmune or chronic inflammatory disorders. Targeting IL-15 or its receptor may have a valuable impact on the treatment of immune-mediated diseases. IL-15 participates in the development of important immune antitumour mechanisms. It activates CD8(+) T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, NK T cells, and can promote the formation of antitumour antibodies. IL-15 can also protect T effector cells from the action of T regulatory cells and reverse tolerance to tumour-associated antigens. In pre-clinical studies IL-15 has been found to demonstrate potentiated antitumour effects following pre-association with IL-15Ralpha, or when used in combination with chemotherapy, adoptive therapy, monoclonal antibodies, and tumour vaccines.
Application: Useful for immunofluorescent staining and flow cytometric analysis to identify and enumerate IL-15Ralpha expressing cells within mixed cell populations.
