The SK1 antibody is specific for the 32-34 kDa alpha chain of human CD8, known as CD8a or CD8 alpha. CD8a can form a homodimer (CD8 alpha-alpha), but is more commonly expressed as a heterodimer with a second chain known as CD8b or CD8 beta. CD8 acts as a co-receptor for antigen recognition and subsequent T cell activation that is initiated upon binding of the T cell receptor (TCR) to antigen-bearing MHC Class I molecules. LMBR1 is a 490 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that is widely expressed with strongest expression in heart and pancreas. Belonging to the LIMR family, LMBR1 shares 95% sequence identity with the mouse protein and may play crucial role in the evolution of limb and skeletal system. LMBR1 is critical for expression of sonic hedgehog (Shh) in the developing posterior limb bud mesenchyme. Mutations in the gene encoding LMBR1 is the cause of several rare conditions such as acheiropody (ACHP) and syndactyly type 4 (SDYT4). ACHP is an autosomal recessive inherited disorder characterized by bilateral congenital amputations of the hands and feet. LMBR1L (limb region 1 protein homolog-like), also known as LIMR (Lipocalin-1-interacting membrane receptor), is a 489 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that is thought to act as a receptor for Lipocalin-1 and may also assist in its endocytosis.

Description:
SMARCD3, is a member of the SMARCD family and contains one SWIB domain. Two isoforms, isoform 1 and isoform 2 exist due to alternative splicing events. Both isoforms are expressed in placenta, salivary gland, kidney, brain, trachea, uterus, prostate, testis, thyroid, spleen and heart, while isoform 1 is also expressed in adipose tissue and skeletal muscle. Localizing to the nucleus, SMARCD3 is a component of the ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complex SNF/SWI and is believed to play a role in nucleosome remodeling. SMARCD3 also plays an important role in the regulation of muscle development. In mice, the silencing of the gene en-coding SMARCD3 leads to defects in heart morphogenesis. In addition, both isoforms of SMARCD3 directly interact with and function as coactivators for several transcription factors.

Zinc-finger proteins contain DNA-binding domains and have a wide variety of functions, most of which encompass some form of transcriptional activation or repression. Sp6, also known as EPFN, EPIPROFIN or KLF14, is a 376 amino acid protein that localizes to the nucleus and contains three C2H2-type zinc fingers. Expressed ubiquitously with higher expression in developing teeth, hair follicles and limb buds, Sp6 functions to bind GC-rich sequences and related GT and CACCC boxes, thereby promoting cellular proliferation. Human Sp6 shares 96% sequence homology with its mouse counterpart, suggesting a conserved role between species. The gene encoding Sp6 maps to human chromosome 17, which comprises over 2.5% of the human genome and encodes over 1,200 genes.

Glutamate receptors mediate most excitatory neurotransmission in the brain and play an important role in neural plasticity, neural development and neurodegeneration. Ionotropic glutamate receptors are categorized into NMDA receptors and kainate/AMPA receptors, both of which contain glutamate-gated, cation-specific ion channels. This product combined with diacylglycerol form phosphatidylethanolamine via the de novo Kennedy pathway. PCYT2 is expressed at highest levels in heart, liver and skeletal muscle. Elevated levels of MyoD, reduced content of Sp1 and a changed ratio of Sp1 to Sp3 all together stimulate upregulation of PCTY2 transcription during C2C12 muscle cell differentiation. Disruption of the PCYT2 gene in mice leads to death after embryo implantation, establishing the necessity of PCYT2 for murine development.
