Description:
CCL4, (C-C motif chemokine 4; macrophage inflammatory protein 1beta) is a chemokine secreted at sites of inflammation by activated leukocytes, lymphocytes, vascular endothelial cells and pulmonary smooth cells. CCL4 attracts a variety of immune cells to sites of microbial infection as well as to pathologic inflammation, such as allergic asthma and ischemic myocardium. Full-length and truncated CCL4 exert biological activity through the receptor CCR5. The truncated form of CCL4 interacts additionally with CCR1 and CCR2b. The ability of CCL4 to bind CCR5 inhibits the cellular entry of M-tropic HIV. Both CCL4 forms block HIV-1 infection of T cells by inducing the downregulation of CCR5.

Description:
CD55 is a member of the RCA (regulators of complement activation) family. RCA proteins is characterized by the presence of four to 30 SCRs (short consensus repeats also called CCPs for control protein modules) in their plasmaexposed regions. CD55 containing four SCR modules is involved in the regulation of the complement cascade. CD55 is known to bind CD97 via the first SCR. It also binds physiologically generated C3 convertases with its second and third SCRs. Binding results in an accelerated “decay”, or dissociation of active C3 convertases, thus blocking the development of C’ attack complexes on nonforeign cells. It is known that viruses and bacteria also utilize multiple SCR sites for infection.

Description:
In response to DNA damage and replication blocks, cell cycle progression is halted through the control of critical cell cycle regulators. The protein encoded by Chk2 gene is a cell cycle checkpoint regulator and putative tumor suppressor. It contains a forkhead-associated protein interaction domain essential for activation in response to DNA damage and is rapidly phosphorylated in response to replication blocks and DNA damage. When activated, the encoded protein is known to inhibit CDC25C phosphatase, preventing entry into mitosis, and has been shown to stabilize the tumor suppressor protein p53, leading to cell cycle arrest in G1. In addition, this protein interacts with and phosphorylates BRCA1, allowing BRCA1 to restore survival after DNA damage. Mutations in this gene have been linked with Li-Fraumeni syndrome, a highly penetrant familial cancer phenotype usually associated with inherited mutations in TP53. Also, mutations in this gene are thought to confer a predisposition to sarcomas, breast cancer, and brain tumors. This nuclear protein is a member of the CDS1 subfamily of serine/threonine protein kinases. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Description:
The HPRT1 gene provides instructions for making an enzyme called hypoxanthine phosphoribosyltransferase 1. This enzyme allows cells to recycle purines, some of the building blocks of DNA and its chemical cousin RNA.The enzyme hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltrasferase (E.C.2.4.2.8., HPRT) plays a crucial role in uric acid synthesis and purine metabolism. This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of hypoxanthine and guanine to inosine monophosphate (IMP) and guanosine monophosphate (GMP), respectively, and uses phosphoribosylpyrophosphate (PRPP) as a cosubstrate and as a source of energy. This pathway is also known as the purine salvage pathway because it allows cells to reuse purine compounds to build DNA and RNA.

Description:
Girdin Antibody: Girdin is a Galpha-interacting protein that can enhance the activation of the protein kinase Akt, remodel the actin cytoskeleton, and is thought to be involved in the regulation of cell migration and cancer metastasis. It has recently been shown that Girdin interacts with Disrupted-in-Schizophrenia 1 (DISC1), a susceptibility gene for major psychiatric disorders. DISC1 is thought to be involved in the migration, positioning and differentiation of dentate granule cells (DGCs) during development; depletion of Girdin or blocking the Girdin-DISC1 interaction results in defects in axonal sprouting in the CA3 region of the hippocampus and overextended migration of mispositioning of DGCs, suggesting the Girdin plays a role in postnatal neurogenesis in the dentate gyrus.

Description:

The RM4-5 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with mouse CD4, also known as L3T4, a 55 kDa differentiation antigen expressed by the majority of thymocytes, subpopulations of mature T cells (like major histocompatibility complex class II-restricted T lymphocytes), a subset of natural killer T cells, and on pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells. CD4 binds to the major histocompatibility complex class II (MHC class II) and enhances T lymphocyte development and mature T cells functions. In T lymphocytes, CD4 binds to the cytoplasmic tail of enzyme tyrosine kinase (p56lck).Binding of RM4-5 is blocked by the anti-mouse CD4 clone GK1.5.

Description:
Aven Antibody: Apoptosis plays a major role in normal organism development, tissue homeostasis, and removal of damaged cells. Disruption of this process has been implicated in a variety of diseases such as cancer. Aven is a recently discovered protein that blocks apoptosis induced by Apaf-1 and caspase-9. It is thought that Aven functions by binding to Bcl-xL, an antiapoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family, and to Apaf-1, possibly interfering with the ability of Apaf-1 to self-associate, suggesting that Aven impedes Apaf-1-mediated caspase activation. Higher levels of Aven mRNA are seen in patients with acute leukemia than in control patients, suggesting that Aven may be useful as a prognostic indicator in leukemia patients.

The PC61.5 antibody specifically reacts with mouse CD25, the 55 kDa low-affinity Interleukin-2 Receptor alpha chain (IL-2R alpha), expressed on early progenitors of T and B lineage, and on B and T cells. Together with CD122 (IL-2 Receptor beta) and CD 132 (IL-2 Receptor gamma c, the common gamma chain), CD25 forms high-affinity receptor complexes for IL-2. Resting B and T cells and natural killer cells do not express IL-2R alpha. Cd25 is also expressed on the dendritic cells, and it enhances lymphocyte differentiation and activation. The PC61.5 antibody block the binding of IL-2 to both high-affinity and low-affinity receptors.

Description:
Recognises an N-glycosylated glycoprotein of 120 kDa with intra-chain disulfide bonds, identified as CD50 or ICAM-3 (WS: IV & V). Its epitope localizes in the D2 extracellular domain and is resistant to neuraminidase and proteases. CD50 is the major ligand for LFA-1 (CD11a/CD18) and may have signalling role to increase adhesion. It is expressed on thymocytes and T lymphocytes and is resistant to treatment with phosphatidylinositol (PI) phospholipase C. This mAb inhibits primary mixed lymphocyte culture (mlC) but not secondary mlC, cytotoxicity or proliferation induced by mitogens. It blocks binding of NK1-L16 stimulated T cells to L cells expressing CD50. This mAb is excellent for staining of formalin/paraffin tissues.
