Description:   Hemogen is a 484 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene HEMGN. Hemogen is a nuclear protein that is expressed in hematopoietic precursor cells and can be detected in CD34+ and K-562 leukemia cell line. It is also expressed in bone marrow, testis, thymus and thyroid tumors, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, various leukemia cell lines, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMCs) of patients with leukemia. Hemogen is down-regulated during megakaryocytic differentiation of K-562 cells by 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA) (at protein level). It can be up-regulated in normal PBMCs by mitogens.

Description:   The M1/69 antibody reacts with mouse CD24, a cell surface molecule also known as Heat Stable Antigen (HSA). CD24 is a GPI-linked glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion and is a ligand for CD62P (P-selectin). It is expressed on erthrocytes, thymocytes, peripheral lymphocytes and myeloid lineage cells. The expression of CD24 is used to delineate stages of of lymphocyte development in the bone marrow.

Description:   Orphan receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) that plays a role in epithelial cell differentiation and regionalization of the proximal epididymal epithelium. May activate several downstream signaling pathways related to cell differentiation, proliferation, growth and survival including the PI3 kinase-mTOR signaling pathway. Mediates the phosphorylation of PTPN11, an activator of this pathway. May also phosphorylate and activate the transcription factor STAT3 to control anchorage-independent cell growth. Mediates the phosphorylation and the activation of VAV3, a guanine nucleotide exchange factor regulating cell morphology. May activate other downstream signaling proteins including AKT1, MAPK1, MAPK3, IRS1 and PLCG2.

Description:   This gene encodes an enzyme belonging to the protein tyrosine kinase family, and it plays a role in T-cell development and lymphocyte activation. This enzyme, which is phosphorylated on tyrosine residues upon T-cell antigen receptor (TCR) stimulation, functions in the initial step of TCR-mediated signal transduction in combination with the Src family kinases, Lck and Fyn. This enzyme is also essential for thymocyte development. Mutations in this gene cause selective T-cell defect, a severe combined immunodeficiency disease characterized by a selective absence of CD8-positive T-cells. Two transcript variants that encode different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].

Description:   ADRM1 is a 407 amino acid protein that localizes to both the nucleus and the cytoplasm and is thought to be involved in protein recruitment and cell adhesion. An integral membrane protein, ADRM1 functions to recruit UCH-L5, a deubiquitinating enzyme, to the 26S proteasome, and once at the proteasome it promotes the activity of UCH-L5. Additionally, ADRM1 is thought to mediate lymphocyte adhesion in endothelial cells and may thus play a role in lymphocyte homing. ADRM1 expression is induced by IFN-g in some cancer cell lines and its expression is upregulated in other metastatic cells, suggesting a role in carcinogenesis. Two isoforms of ADRM1 exist due to alternative splicing events.

Description:   Voltage-sensitive calcium channels (VSCC) mediate the entry of calcium ions into excitable cells and are also involved in a variety of calcium-dependent processes, including muscle contraction, hormone or neurotransmitter release, gene expression, cell motility, cell division and cell death. The isoform alpha-1D gives rise to L-type calcium currents. Long-lasting (L-type) calcium channels belong to the 'high-voltage activated' (HVA) group. They are blocked by dihydropyridines (DHP), phenylalkylamines, benzothiazepines, and by omega-agatoxin-IIIA (omega-Aga-IIIA). They are however insensitive to omega-conotoxin-GVIA (omega-CTx-GVIA) and omega-agatoxin-IVA (omega-Aga-IVA).
