Description:   Induces morphological reversion of a cell line transformed by a Ras oncogene. Counteracts the mitogenic function of Ras, at least partly because it can interact with Ras GAPs and RAF in a competitive manner. Together with ITGB1BP1, regulates KRIT1 localisation to microtubules and membranes. Plays a role in nerve growth factor (NGF)-induced neurite outgrowth. Plays a role in the regulation of embryonic blood vessel formation. Involved in the establishment of basal endothelial barrier function. May be involved in the regulation of the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor KDR expression at endothelial cell-cell junctions.

Description:   GATA1 is a Cys2/Cys2 zinc finger DNA binding protein that is expressed primarily in erythroid, megakaryocytic, mast cells and eosinophilic cells. It belongs to the GATA family of transcription factors. GATA1 is a transcriptional activator which probably serves as a general switch factor for erythroid development. It binds to DNA sites with the consensus sequence [AT]GATA[AG] within regulatory regions of globin genes and of other genes expressed in erythroid cells. The protein also plays an important role in erythroid development by regulating the switch from fetal hemoglobin production to adult hemoglobin.

Description:   IL2 Receptor beta (CD122) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily that forms the high affinity IL2 receptor with CD25 and CD132. This receptor chain, which is also shared by the IL15 receptor, is constitutively expressed by NK cells and at lower levels by T cells, B cells, monocytes, and macrophages. The IL2 Receptor beta chain can combine with either the common gamma subunit (gamma c) alone or the gamma c subunit and the IL2 Receptor alpha subunit to generate intermediate or high affinity IL2 receptor complexes, respectively. CD122 levels can be upregulated by activation stimuli such as IL2.

Description:   The B subunit of cholera toxin (CtxB) binds to a GM1-ganglioside receptor, a ubiquitous glycolipid cell surface receptor. This binding is widely accepted to initiate toxin action by triggering uptake and delivery of the toxin A subunit into cells. The beta chain has no toxic activity by itself. The holotoxin consists of a pentameric ring of B subunits whose central pore is occupied by the A subunit. The A subunit contains two chains, A1 and A2, linked by a disulfide bridge. The A subunit (and Cholera toxin) activates the adenylate cyclase enzyme in cells of the intestinal mucosa leading to increased levels of intracellular cAMP.

Description:   This gene encodes a member of the Rho family of small GTPases, which cycle between inactive GDP-bound and active GTP-bound states and function as molecular switches in signal transduction cascades. Rho proteins promote reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton and regulate cell shape, attachment, and motility. The protein encoded by this gene is prenylated at its C-terminus, and localizes to the cytoplasm and plasma membrane. It is thought to be important in cell locomotion. Overexpression of this gene is associated with tumor cell proliferation and metastasis. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.

Description:   Interferon (IFN) Inducible 16 (IFI16) protein belongs to a family of HIN 200 human and mouse proteins. IFI16 is a nuclear protein comtaining regulatory domains such as DNA binding domain, transcriptional regulatory domain and DAPIN/PAAD domain. IFI16 has three isotypes A, B, and C (85-95 kDa), which arise as a result of mRNA alternative splicing. All are phosphorylated on serine and threonine residues and can homo and heterodimerize. Expression is restricted to the nuclei of hematopoietic cells, fibroblasts and epithelial cells. IFI16 expression in hematopoietic cells of myeloid lineage is tightly regulated and highly induced in the differentiation and proliferation of the cell. Due to its localisation in the nucleus, regulation of protein expression, and ability to bind DNA, it is assumed that IFI16 has a role in transcription regulation of cell differentiation. In addition, it was found that IFI16 can act as a transcriptional repressor and is involved in regulation and activation of p53 in cancer cells.

Description:   IGSF11 is also known as BTIGSF (brain and testis-specific immunoglobulin superfamily protein) or VSIG3 (V-set and immunoglobulin domain-containing protein 3) and is a 431 amino acid protein that is expressed as three isoforms. IGSF11 is highly expressed in testis and ovary and is also expressed in brain, kidney and skeletal muscle, localized to the cellular membrane as a single-pass membrane protein. IGSF11 is an immunoglobulin with V-type and C2-type domains that function in molecular recognition. When IGSF11 is in the trans position, it plays an important role in cell-cell adhesion via both homophilic and heterophilic interactions with other molecules. These cell–cell interactions are also thought to be important for neuronal cell interactions, such as neuron–neuron or neuron–glia interactions, which are important for the development and function of the central nervous system. In addition, IGSF11 might also be involved interactions between Sertoli cells and spermatocytes, which are important associations during spermatogenesis. The IGSF11 gene is commonly upregulated in gastric cancer and IGSF11 is highly expressed in many types of human tumors, indicating that it may be useful as a target for immunotherapy.

Description:   Recognizes a protein of 50-65 kDa, identified as CD16 (Workshop IV; Code N39 ) (also known low affinity Fc receptor III for IgG (FcRIII) or Leu 11). CD16 exists as a polypepetide-anchored from (FCRIIIA or CD16A) on human natural killer (NK) cells and monocytes/ macrophages and as a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored form (FcRIIIB or CD16B) on neutrophils. CD16B is polymorphic and the two alleles are termed NA1 and NA2.3 CD16 plays a role in signal transduction, NK cell activation and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity. This MAb has been showed to inhibit the binding of immune complex to NK cells, inhibit cytotoxicity of NK cells, and induce calcium fluxes in NK cells and neutrophils.

Description:   VpreB is expressed in pre-B lymphocytes, but not in mature B cells or in other blood cell lineages. The gene which encodes VpreB maps to human chromosome 22q11.2. The VpreB and Lambda 5 genes encode the Iota and Omega polypeptide chains, respectively, which associate with the Ig-Mu chain to form a molecular complex that is expressed on the surface of pre-B cells. This complex presumably regulates Ig gene rearrangements in the early steps of B cell differentiation. In the mouse the two genes are simultaneously expressed in pre-B cells and belong to the same transcription unit. A primary transcript is synthesized from which the pre-B and Lambda 5 mRNAs are derived by alternative splicing. In the human, however, the two genes are separate and do not belong to the same transcription unit.

Description:   Recognizes a protein of 80 kDa-90 kDa, identified as CD36. It is expressed on platelets, monocytes and macrophages, microvascular endothelial cells, erythrocyte precursors, mammary epithelial cells, and some macrophage derived dendritic cells. CD36 acts as a receptor for thrombospondin (TSP), collagen types I, IV and V, P. falciparum malaria-infected erythrocytes, and sickle erythrocytes. It also functions as a scavenger receptor, mediating macrophage uptake of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and recognition of apoptotic polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN). CD36 plays a role in platelet aggregation, macrophage foam cell development, inflammation, and the tissue ischemia observed in sickle cell disease and cerebral malaria. Note that 1-4% of Japanese and East Asia population lack CD36.
