Description:
GCN5 functions as a histone acetyltransferase (HAT) to promote transcriptional activation. Acetylation of histones gives a specific tag for epigenetic transcription activation. It has significant histone acetyltransferase activity with core histones, but not with nucleosome core particles. In case of HIV-1 infection, it is recruited by the viral protein Tat. It regulates Tat's transactivating activity and may help inducing chromatin remodelling of proviral genes. GCN5 is a component of the Ada Two-A containing (ATAC) complex, a complex with histone acetyltransferase activity on histones H3 and H4.

Description:
TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL; Apo2L;CD253; TNFSF10) is a type II transmembrane protein of about 34kDa. Like most members of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily of cytokines TRAIL can be cleaved at the cell surface by metalloproteases to form a soluble molecule. Active TRAIL forms trimers and specifically binds to five distinct receptors: TRAIL-R1 (DR4; Apo2;CD261; TNFRSF10A), TRAIL-R2 (DR5; KILLER; TRICK2A;TRICK2B; CD262; TNFRSF10B), TRAIL-R3 (DcR1;LIT; TRID; CD263; TNFRSF10C), TRAIL-R4 (DcR2; TRUNDD; CD264; TNFRSF10D), and osteoprotegerin (OPG; OCIF; TNFRSF11B). Trimerised TRAIL triggers apoptosis upon ligation of cell surface TRAIL-R1 and/or TRAIL-R2 by inducing the formation of the so-called multiprotein death-inducing signalling complex (DISC).

Description:
Semaphorin-4A (SEMA4A) belongs to the semaphorin family which contains a Ig-like C2-type domain, a PSI domain and a Sema domain. SEMA4A is expressed from day 10 in the embryo, and low levels are found between days 10-12. SEMA4A is a cell surface receptor for PLXNB1, PLXNB2, PLXNB3 and PLXND1 that plays an important role in cell-cell signalling. It plays a role in priming antigen-specific T-cells, promotes differentiation of Th1 T-helper cells, and thereby contributes to adaptive immunity. SEMA4A promotes phosphorylation of TIMD2, inhibits angiogenesis, and promotes axon growth cone collapse, Inhibits axonal extension by providing local signals to specify territories inaccessible for growing axons.

Description:
Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor κ B (RANK), also known as CD265, TRANCE Receptor or TNFRSF11A, is member of the tumour necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) molecular superfamily. RANK is the receptor for RANK-Ligand (RANKL) and part of the RANK/RANKL/OPG signallling pathway that regulates osteoclast differentiation and activation. It plays a vital role in bone remodellling and repair, immune cell function, lymph node development, thermal regulation, and mammary gland development. RANK is constitutively expressed in skeletal muscle, thymus, liver, colon, small intestine, adrenal gland, osteoclast, mammary gland epithelial cells, prostate, vascular cell, and pancreas.

Description:
Adipocyte Adhesion Molecule (ASAM) is a type I transmembrane protein and member of the CTX family within the immunoglobulin superfamily. ASAM may be involved in the cell-cell adhesion, play an important role in adipocyte differentiation and development of obesity. ASAM can be expressed in the skeletal, heart, colon, spleen, muscle, lung and kidney with high level, and in the peripheral blood leukocytes and liver with low level. The extracellular region of ASAM consists two potential N-linked glycosylation sites, and two immunoglobulin domains, one V-type and one C2-type.

Description:
Chemokine (C-X-C Motif) Ligand 9 (CXCL9) belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CXC) family. It is secreted by interferon stimulated monocytes, macrophages and endothelial cells, which elicits chemotactic functions by interacting with the chemokine receptor CXCR3. CXCL9 acts as a Th1 (type 1 helper T) cell chemoattractant and plays a role in the growth, activation and movement of cells associated with immune and inflammatory responses, and in tumour growth inhibition. It is closely related to two other CXC chemokines called CXCL10 and CXCL11, whose genes are located near the gene for CXCL9 on human chromosome 4.

Description:
Mitochondrial NMNAT isoform. Catalyses the formation of NAD+ from nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) and ATP. Can also use the deamidated form of nicotinic acid mononucleotide (NAMN) as substrate with the same efficiency. Can use tiazofurin monophosphate as substrate. Can also use GTP and ITP as nucleotide donors. Also catalyses the reverse reaction, i. e. the pyrophosphorolytic cleavage of NAD+. For the pyrophosphorolytic activity, mitochondrial NMNAT isoform can use NAD(+), NADH, NAAD, nicotinic acid adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NHD), nicotinamide guanine dinucleotide (NGD) as substrates. Fails to cleave phosphorylated dinucleotides NADP+, NADPH and NAADP+. Protects against axonal degeneration following injury.

Description:
Interferon alpha/ beta Receptor 2 (IFN- alpha/ beta R2) is a single-pass type I membrane protein which belongs to the type II cytokine receptor family. It complexes with IFN- alpha/ beta R1 to form the signaling receptor complex for the family of alpha and beta IFN subtypes. By alternative splicing, IFN- alpha/ beta R2 can exist as a secreted soluble protein or as a type I membrane protein. IFN- alpha/ beta R2 is the principal ligand binding subunit of the receptor. Ligand binding is stabilized by the subsequent association with IFN- alpha/ beta R1, resulting in the formation of a signaling ternary receptor complex. IFNAR2 was detected in most lymphocytes, monocytes, and granulocytes, although IFNAR2 expression was higher in the monocytes and granulocytes than in the lymphocytes. Among the lymphocyte subsets, IFNAR2 showed high expression in natural killer (NK) cells and low expression in T lymphocytes. Isoform 1 and isoform 3 of IFNAR2 are directly involved in signal transduction due to their interaction with the TYR kinase, JAK1. Isoform 1 also interacts with the transcriptional factors, STAT1 and STAT2. Both forms are potent inhibitors of type I IFN activity.

Description:
Tissue Factor (TF) is a single-pass type I membrane glycoprotein member of the tissue factor family. TF expression is highly dependent upon cell type. This factor enables cells to initiate the blood coagulation cascades, and it functions as the high-affinity receptor for the coagulation factor VII. TF initiates blood coagulation by forming a complex with circulating factor VII or VIIa. The complex activates factors IX or X by specific limited protolysis. TF plays a role in normal hemostasis by initiating the cell-surface assembly and propagation of the coagulation protease cascade.
