The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins, which have the common function of binding to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) and confining the holoenzyme to discrete locations within the cell. AKAP1 is a member of the AKAP family. It binds to type I and type II regulatory subunits of PKA and anchors them to the mitochondrion. This protein is speculated to be involved in the cAMP-dependent signal transduction pathway and in directing RNA to a specific cellular compartment.

This protein binds to double-stranded DNA, and displays ATPase activity in the presence of DNA. This gene is highly expressed in testis and spleen, which suggests active roles in meiotic and mitotic recombination. NOD3 Antibody: NOD3 is a member of the NOD (nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain) family, a group of proteins that are involved in innate immune defense. NOD3 also known as NLR family CARD containing 3 (NLRC3), is predominantly expressed in the immune system, particularly in T lymphocytes, and its expression is strongly down-regulated following stimulation of the T-cell receptor complex and CD28, suggesting that NOD3 plays a role in attenuating the activation of T cells. NOD3 inhibits NF-kappaB, AP-1 and NFAT transcriptional activation in Jurkat T cells downstream of CD3/CD28 stimulation or treatment with PMA/ionomycin and decreases IL-2 and CD25 mRNA induction in activated cells.

GSTP1 Antibody: Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) are a family of enzymes that play an important role in detoxification by catalyzing the conjugation of many hydrophobic and electrophilic compounds with reduced glutathione. Based on their biochemical, immunologic, and structural properties, the soluble GSTs are categorized into 4 main classes: alpha, mu, pi, and theta. The glutathione S-transferase pi gene (GSTP1) is a polymorphic gene encoding active, functionally different GSTP1 variant proteins that are thought to function in xenobiotic metabolism (i.e., the metabolism of environmental mutagens and carcinogens) and may play a role in susceptibility to cancer. More recent experiments have suggested that differential expression of GSTP1 also contributes to the sensitivity of xenobiotics in the substantia nigra and may influence the pathogenesis of reactive oxygen species-induced neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease. CpG island hypermethylation of the GSTP1 promoter leading to the silencing of the GSTP1 gene has also been linked to cancer.

Caspase-1 Antibody: Caspases are a family of cysteine proteases that can be divided into the apoptotic and inflammatory caspase subfamilies. Unlike the apoptotic caspases, members of the inflammatory subfamily are generally not involved in cell death but are associated with the immune response to microbial pathogens. Members of this subfamily include caspase-1, -4, -5, and -12 and can activate proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1 beta and IL-18. Caspase-1 was initially identified as an IL-1 beta -converting enzyme; later experiments revealed it to be a mammalian homolog of the C. elegans cell death gene ced-3 whose overexpression can induce apoptosis in fibroblasts.
