Description:   CCDC98 Antibody: CCDC98, also known as Abraxas 1, was identified through protein binding studies using the breast and ovarian predisposition protein BRCA1 as the binding target. CCDC98 recruits RAP80, a ubiquitin-binding protein, to BRCA1, allowing the formation of BRCA1 foci in response to DNA damage caused by ionizing radiation. Both CCDC98 and RAP80 are required for DNA damage resistance, G2-M checkpoint control, and DNA repair. Cells depleted of either CCDC98 or RAP80 exhibited increased sensitivity to ionizing radiation, although not as much as in BRCA1-depleted cells, suggesting that CCDC98 and RAP80 control only part of the DNA damage response role of BRCA1. At least two isoforms of CCDC98 are known to exist.

Description:   TRIM25 Antibody: TRIM25, also known as estrogen responsive finger protein (EFP) is a member of the RING finger-B box-coiled coil family and is a downstream target of estrogen receptor a. Mice lacking this gene displayed an underdeveloped uterus and reduced estrogen responsiveness demonstrating that this protein is essential for estrogen dependent proliferation. TRIM25 expression is increased in breast carcinoma where it promotes the growth of breast tumor by functioning as an E3 ubiquitin ligase that targets the negative cell cycle checkpoint 14-3-3s. Recent reports have indicated that TRIM25 E3 ubiquitin ligase is essential for the retinoic-acid-inducible gene 1 (RIG-1) signaling pathway to elicit host antiviral innate immunity.

Description:   Members of the F-box protein family, such as FBXO36, are characterized by an approximately 40-amino acid F-box motif. SCF complexes, formed by SKP1 (MIM 601434), cullin (see CUL1; MIM 603134), and F-box proteins, act as protein-ubiquitin ligases. F-box proteins interact with SKP1 through the F box, and they interact with ubiquitination targets through other protein interaction domains.Members of the F-box protein family, such as FBXO36, are characterized by an approximately 40-amino acid F-box motif. Description:   Autophagy is the process by which endogenous proteins and damaged organelles are destroyed intracellularly. Autophagy is postulated to be essential for cell homeostasis and cell remodeling during differentiation, metamorphosis, non-apoptotic cell death, and aging. Reduced levels of autophagy have been described in some malignant tumors, and a role for autophagy in controlling the unregulated cell growth linked to cancer has been proposed. APG4B encodes a member of the autophagin protein family and is also designated as a member of the C-54 family of cysteine proteases.Autophagy is the process by which endogenous proteins and damaged organelles are destroyed intracellularly. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.

Description:   SRPX2 Antibody: Sushi-repeat-containing protein X-linked 2 (SRPX2) is a neural gene functioning in the speech and language center of the human brain; mutations in this gene lead to epilepsy, speech dyspraxia, mental retardation and cognitive disorders. Recently, SRPX2 was found to be a novel mediator of angiogenesis and can act as a ligand for the urokinase-type plasminogen activator, a protein that can facilitate invasive migration of sprouting endothelial cells. SRPX2 is also overexpressed in gastric cancer, leading to increased phosphorylation levels of focal adhesion kinase and enhanced cellular migration and adhesion, suggesting that SRPX2 may be a potential target in the treatment of metastatic cancers.

Description:   PTPLAD1 is a multi-pass membrane protein. It belongs to the PTPLA family and contains 1 CS domain. PTPLAD1 (hB-ind1) plays a crucial role in HCV RNA replication and the propagation of JFH1 virus through interaction with viral and host proteins. It is involved in Rac1-signaling pathways leading to the modulation of gene expression.

Description:   CLN6 is one of eight which have been associated with neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses (NCL). Also referred to as Batten disease, NCL comprises a class of autosomal recessive, neurodegenerative disorders affecting children. The genes responsible likely CLN6 involved in the degradation of post-translationally modified proteins in lysosomes. The primary defect in NCL disorders is thought to be associated with lysosomal storage function.
