Description:   Smooth muscle myosin heavy chain (SM-MHC) is a cytoplasmic structural protein, which is a major component of the contractile apparatus in smooth muscle cells. Expression of smooth muscle myosin is developmentally regulated, appearing early in smooth muscle development, and is specific for smooth muscle development. Two isoforms of smooth muscle myosin heavy chain have been identified, designated MHC-1 and MHC-2. The antibody may be useful for the study of breast tumors as the presence of an intact layer of myoepithelial cells is an important feature, which may distinguish benign breast lesions and carcinoma in situ from invasive tumors.

Description:   Hepatocyte growth factor/scatter factor (HGF/SF) is a pleiotropic growth factor that promotes proliferation, motility, survival, and differentiation. HGF binds and promotes the dimerization and activation of the receptor tyrosine kinase c-MET, and stimulates PI3K/AKT, FAK, JNK, and ERK1/2 signaling (Organ and Tsao). HGF stimulates migration of cells during embryogenesis, induces cell motility and scattering of epithelial cells, and regulates epithelial-mesenchymal transition. It is a chemoattractant for motor neurons, and regulates the development of sensory, sympathetic, parasympathetic, and cortical neurons as well as the proliferation of oligodendrocytes and glial development. Additionally, HGF is cytoprotective and regulates liver growth and regeneration (Nakamura <i>et al.</i>).

Description:   ZSCAN4 Antibody: Zytotic genome activation (ZGA) is the first and most critical transition event from the maternal genetic to the embryonic genetic program and the major burst of ZGA occurs only in the late 2-cell stage. ZSCAN4 encodes a SCAN domain and four zinc finger domains and is expressed in late 2-cell embryos and embryonic stem cells. Loss-of-function studies using siRNA shows delays in the progression from the 2-cell to the 4-cell stage and subsequent embryo development. ZSCAN4 plays an important role in the preimplantation development. Also, ZSCAN4 is involved in telomere maintenance and long term genomic stability in ES cells, suggesting that ZSCAN4 may be of critical importance in maintaining pluripotency in replicating stem cells.

Zinc is an essential ion for cells and plays significant roles in the growth, development, and differentiation. The zinc transporter family is divided into four subfamilies (I, II, LIV-1 and gufA). ZIP13 is a multipass membrane protein that belongs to the ZIP transporter subfamily LIV-1. Mutations in ZIP13 have recently been shown to cause a spondylocheiro dysplastic form of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (SCD-EDS), a generalized skeletal dysplasia involving mainly the spine with clinical abnormalities of the hands in addition to EDS-like features.
