Description:   Plexin Domain-Containing Protein 1 (PLXDC1) is a single-pass type I membrane protein that belongs to the plexin family. Secreted PLXDC1 is localized predominantly at the tight junctions of vascular endothelial cells and to a lesser extent at the luminal surface of vascular endothelial cells. PLXDC1 is expressed in fibrovascular membrane with increased expression in individuals with proliferative diabetic retinopathy. It can detect in endothelial cells from colorectal cancer, and in endothelial cells from primary cancers of the lung, liver, pancreas, breast and brain. PLXDC1 interacts with NID1 and may also interact with CTTN. It plays a important role in endothelial cell capillary morphogenesis, the proliferation and maintenance of neovascular endothelial cells in the formation of fibrovascular membranes (FVMs).

Description:   Neuroligin 4, X-Linked (NLGN4X) is a single-pass type I membrane protein that belongs to the type-B carboxylesterase/lipase family. NLGN4X is detected at higher levels in heart and at lower levels in the liver, skeletal muscle, and pancreas. NLGN4X is a putative neuronal cell surface protein involved in cell-cell-interactions. NLGN4X may act as splice site-specific ligands for beta -neurexins. It has been shown that NLGN4X is involved in the formation and remodeling of central nervous system synapses. NLGN4X also interacts with discs, large (Drosophila) homolog 4 (DLG4). Defects in NLGN4X have been associated with autism and Asperger syndrome.

Description:   Natural Cytotoxicity Triggering Receptor 3 (NCR3) along with NKp44 and NKp46 constitute a group of receptors termed “Natural Cytotoxicity Receptors”. They play a major role in triggering NK-mediated killing of most tumour cells lines. NKp30 is a type I transmembrane protein having a single extracellular V-like immunoglobulin domain. NKp30 is selectively expressed both in resting and activated human NK cells. In addition, NKp30 is also involved in NK-mediated induction of dendritic cell (DC) maturation. It has been demonstrated that NK cell activation signalling specifically induces lytic activity against several tumour cell types and synthesis of new NF-κB dependent proteins during the initiation of cytotoxicity.

CD300C contains one Ig-like V-type domain and is present on the surface of natural killer cells, granulocytes, most myeloid cells, dendritic cells, and a subpopulation of T and B lymphocytes. The CD300C (CMRF-35A) and CD300A (CMRF-35H) molecules are homologous leukocyte surface proteins. CD300a and CD300C play an important role in the cross-regulation of TNF-alpha and IFN-alpha secretion from pDCs. CD300A and CD300C are indistinguishable on the surface of NK cells. The ligand for CD300C is presently unknown.

Description:   High Mobility Group Protein B2 (HMGB2) belongs to the non-histone chromosomal high-mobility group protein family. Members of this family are chromatin-associated and widely spread in the nucleus of higher eukaryotic cells. HMGB2 contains 2 HMG box DNA-binding domains. It is associated with chromatin and has the ability to bend DNA, preferentially single-stranded DNA. It is shown that HMGB2 is able to efficiently bend DNA and form DNA circles. In addition, HMGB2 is involved in the final ligation step in DNA end-joining processes of DNA double-strand breaks repair and V(D)J recombination.

Description:   Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte protein 4, is a single-pass type I membrane protein. It is widely expressed with highest levels in lymphoid tissues. CD28 and CTLA-4, together with their ligands, B7-1 and B7-2, constitute one of the dominant costimulatory pathways that regulate T and B cell responses. CD28 and CTLA-4 are structurally homologous molecules that are members of the immunoglobulin (Ig) gene superfamily. CTLA4 transmits an inhibitory signal to T cells, whereas CD28 transmits a stimulatory signal. Intracellular CTLA4 is also found in regulatory T Cells and may play an important role in their functions. Tcell activation through the Tcell receptor and CD28 leads to increased expression of CTLA4.

Description:   CD99 antigen is also known as MIC2, single-chain type-1 glycoprotein, HBA71, MIC2X, MIC2Y, MSK5X, 12E7, which belongs to the CD99 family. CD99 / MIC2 is expressed on all leukocytes but highest on thymocytes. Involved in T-cell adhesion processes and in spontaneous rosette formation with erythrocytes. CD99 / MIC2 plays a role in a late step of leukocyte extravasation helping leukocytes to overcome the endothelial basement membrane. CD99 acts at the same site as, but independently of PECAM1. There is also experimental evidence that it binds to cyclophilin A.
