Fournisseur:  Bioss
Description:   This gene encodes a member of the p53 family of transcription factors. An animal model, p63 -/- mice, has been useful in defining the role this protein plays in the development and maintenance of stratified epithelial tissues. p63 -/- mice have several developmental defects which include the lack of limbs and other tissues, such as teeth and mammary glands, which develop as a result of interactions between mesenchyme and epithelium. Mutations in this gene are associated with ectodermal dysplasia, and cleft lip/palate syndrome 3 (EEC3); split-hand/foot malformation 4 (SHFM4); ankyloblepharon-ectodermal defects-cleft lip/palate; ADULT syndrome (acro-dermato-ungual-lacrimal-tooth); limb-mammary syndrome; Rap-Hodgkin syndrome (RHS); and orofacial cleft 8. Both alternative splicing and the use of alternative promoters results in multiple transcript variants encoding different proteins. Many transcripts encoding different proteins have been reported but the biological validity and the full-length nature of these variants have not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].

Description:   Ulex Europaeus is a European gorse shrub with fragrant golden-yellow flowers. Ulex Europaeus-I Lectin is a 46 kDa glycoprotein known to interact with -L fucosyl residues in oligosaccharides present on the membranes of human blood group O erythrocytes, human endothelial cells and a variety of human and animal epithelial cells. This antibody reacts with Ulex Europaeus Lectin 1 bound to human endothelial cells of normal and neoplastic blood and lymphatic vesicles. It also reacts with human epithelia such as in the colon, bronchus, epidermis, sweat gland ducts and hair follicles. It also reacts with for Ulex Europaeus Lectin 1 bound to vasclular endothelium and squamous epithelium of human tonsil. While erythrocytes may be stained, no other tonsilar elements are reactive with the antibody. This antibody may be useful in the detection of vascular tumors, the This antibody may be useful in the detection of vascular tumors, the investigation of vascular invasion by tumor cells, for determination of Ulex Europaeus Lectin 1 binding to normal, embryonal, dysplastic and neoplastic epithelia and the study of storage diseases such as fucosidosis.

Description:   ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters are an evolutionarily conserved family of widely-expressed proteins that use ATP hydrolysis to catalyze the transport of various molecules across extracellular and intracellular membranes. As the largest family of transmembrane proteins, ABC genes comprise several subfamilies (ABC1, ABCA, ABCE, ABCF, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20 and White (also known as ABCG)). In bacteria, ABC transporters are used to import compunds that cannot be obtained by diffusion. Eukaryotic ABC transporters are largely responsible for trafficking hydrophobic compounds either within the cell as part of a metabolic process or outside the cell for transport to other organs, or for secretion from the body. ABCB9 (also designated Transporter associated with antigen processing (TAP)-like or TAPL) forms a homodimer, which is localized in lysosomes. It functions as an ATP-dependent peptide transporter that shows a broad peptide specificity ranging from 6-mer up to 59-mer peptides. ABCB9 transports these peptides with low affinity but high efficiency.

Description:   The AD302L is a useful attachment for any laboratory's external source of air, removing moisture and ensuring the delivery of dry air. Moisture content in house air can contaminate lab instrumentation, impacting on results and in some cases damaging the instrument itself. Compact in size, wall-mountable and light, the AD302L requires little space and its few moving parts mean minimal maintenance is required.

Description:   Cytokeratin 8 (CK8) belongs to the type II (or B or basic) subfamily of high molecular weight cytokeratins and exists in combination with cytokeratin 18 (CK18). CK8 is primarily found in the non-squamous epithelia and is present in majority of adenocarcinomas and ductal carcinomas. It is absent in squamous cell carcinomas. Hepatocellular carcinomas are defined by the use of antibodies that recognize only cytokeratin 8 and 18. CK8 exists on several types of normal and neoplastic epithelia, including many ductal and glandular epithelia such as colon, stomach, small intestine, trachea, and esophagus as well as in transitional epithelium. Anti-CK8 does not react with skeletal muscle or nerve cells. Epithelioid sarcoma, chordoma, and adamantinoma show strong positivity corresponding to that of simple epithelia (with antibodies against CK8, CK18 and CK19). Anti-CK8 is useful for the differentiation of lobular (ring-like, perinuclear) from ductal (peripheral-predominant) carcinoma of the breast.

Description:   Competitive, mechanism-based inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases 2 and 9 (MMP-2 and MMP-9). It possesses Ki values in the nanomolar range against the gelatinases (14nM for MMP-2; 600nM for MMP-9), but in the micromolar range against other metalloproteinases (206µM for MMP-1, 15µM for MMP-3, 96µM for MMP-7, and 4µM for ADAM17/TACE). This inhibitor has also been used in vitro, in vivo, and in tissue culture. In vivo, it is metabolized to an even more potent gelatinase inhibitor.

Description:   This antibody reacts with the TGF alpha and shows no cross-reaction with EGF and the neuropeptide synenkephalin. The staining with this MAb is completely blocked by the peptide used for raising this antibody. TGF alpha (aa50) is a growth factor with 33% homology to EGF, binds to EGFR, activates tyrosine phosphorylation of the receptor, and stimulates cell proliferation. It plays a role in tumor initiation by inducing the reversible transformed phenotype.
