Description:   Recognizes a protein of 140 kDa, which is identified as the complement receptor 2 (CR2)/CD21. Its epitope is located in 5-8 short consensus repeats (SCRs). This MAb is highly specific to CR2 and shows no cross-reaction with CR1. This protein is expressed strongly on mature B cells, follicular dendritic cells and weakly on immature thymocytes and T lymphocytes. In B-cell ontogeny, CD21 appears after the pre-B-stage, is maintained during peripheral B-cell development and is lost upon terminal differentiation into plasma cells. CD21 expression is also gradually lost after stimulation of B cells in vitro. CD21 functions as receptor for C3d, C3dg and iC3b Complement components, for EBV and for IFNalpha. CD21 binds to CD23 and associates with CD19, CD81 and Leu13 to form a large signal-transduction complex involved in B cell activation. MAb FR5A10 can be used for EBV receptor studies, interactions between B and T cells especially through CD23, human complement receptor (CR2) studies and IFN-alpha receptor studies.

Description:   Recognizes a protein of 80 kDa-90 kDa, identified as CD36. It is expressed on platelets, monocytes and macrophages, microvascular endothelial cells, erythrocyte precursors, mammary epithelial cells, and some macrophage derived dendritic cells. CD36 acts as a receptor for thrombospondin (TSP), collagen types I, IV and V, P. falciparum malaria-infected erythrocytes, and sickle erythrocytes. It also functions as a scavenger receptor, mediating macrophage uptake of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and recognition of apoptotic polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN). CD36 plays a role in platelet aggregation, macrophage foam cell development, inflammation, and the tissue ischemia observed in sickle cell disease and cerebral malaria. Note that 1-4% of Japanese and East Asia population lack CD36.

Description:   G2A (for G2 accumulation) is a seven transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor that is upregulated in response to DNA damage and stress (1). G2A is predominantly expressed in hematopoietic tissues and in hematopoietic stem cells, and it is more highly detected in pro-B cells, while lower expression is observed in immature B cells and pre-B cells (1,2). G2A is expressed throughout T cell maturation, and it is further increased in response to T-cell activation (3). Ectopic expression of a G2A fusion protein in NIH/3T3 fibroblasts induces a cell cycle arrest that is consistent with a block at the G2/M transition (1,4). G2A is also able to attenuate the proliferative effects of Bcr-Abl, a chimeric tyrosine kinase oncogene, suggesting that G2A possesses anti-oncogenic properties (5). The amino acid sequence of G2A contains a destruction box motif that is consistently observed in cyclins, where it is required for ubiquitination and proteolytic degradation (6).

Description:   Syndecan 3 is a belongs to the syndecan proteoglycan family. It may play a role in the organization of cell shape by affecting the actin cytoskeleton, possibly by transferring signals from the cell surface in a sugar-dependent mechanism. Allelic variants of this gene have been associated with obesity.

Description:   Suppresses apoptosis in a variety of cell systems including factor-dependent lymphohematopoietic and neural cells. Regulates cell death by controlling the mitochondrial membrane permeability. Appears to function in a feedback loop system with caspases. Inhibits caspase activity either by preventing the release of cytochrome c from the mitochondria and/or by binding to the apoptosis-activating factor (APAF-1).

Description:   DNA helicase involved in cellular proliferation. Possesses DNA-dependent ATPase and helicase activities. This helicase translocates on single-stranded DNA in the 5' to 3' direction in the presence of ATP and, to a lesser extent, dATP. Its unwinding activity requires a 5'-single-stranded region for helicase loading, since flush-ended duplex structures do not support unwinding. The helicase activity is capable of displacing duplex regions up to 100 bp, which can be extended to 500 bp by RPA or the cohesion establishment factor, the Ctf18-RFC (replication factor C) complex activities. Stimulates the flap endonuclease activity of FEN1. Required for normal sister chromatid cohesion. Required for recruitement of bovine papillomavirus type 1 regulatory protein E2 to mitotic chrmosomes and for viral genome maintenance. Required for maintaining the chromosome segregation and is essential for embryonic development and the prevention of aneuploidy. May function during either S, G2, or M phase of the cell cycle. Binds to both single- and double-stranded DNA.Tissue specificity: Highly expressed in spleen, B-cells, thymus, testis, ovary, small intestine, and pancreas. Very low expression seen in the brain. Expressed in dividing cells and/or cells undergoing high levels of recombination. No expression is seen in cells signaled to terminally differentiate. Expressed in keratinocyte growth factor-stimulated cells but not in serum, EGF and IL1-beta-treated keratinocytes.
