CD200, also known as OX-2, is a 45 kDa transmembrane immunoregulatory protein that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. CD200 is widely but not ubiquitously expressed. Its receptor (CD200R) is restricted primarily to mast cells, basophils, macrophages, and dendritic cells, which suggests myeloid cell regulation as the major function of CD200. CD200 knockout mice are characterised by increased macrophage number and activation and are predisposed to autoimmune disorders. In T cells, CD200 functions as a costimulatory molecule independent of the CD28 pathway. Several viruses encode CD200 homologs which are expressed on infected cells during the lytic phase. Like CD200 itself, viral CD200 homologs also suppress myeloid cell activity, enabling increased viral propagation.

Additionally, B72 is expressed at low levels on monocytes and can be upregulated through interferon γ. CD86 is the ligand for two different proteins on the T cell surface: CD28 (for autoregulation and intercellular association) and CTLA-4 (for attenuation of regulation and cellular disassociation). CD86 works in tandem with CD80 to prime T cells. Recent study has revealed that B7-2 promotes the generation of a mature APC repertoire and promotes APC function and survival. Furthermore, the B7 proteins are also involved in innate immune responses by activating NF-κB-signaling pathway in macrophages. CD86 thus is regarded as a promising candidate for immune therapy. Human protein N-terminal glutamine amidohydrolase (WDYHV1) is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the WDYHV1 gene, belongs to the NTAQ1 family.WDYHV1 mediates the side-chain deamidation of N-terminal glutamine residues to glutamate, which is an important step in N-end rule pathway of protein degradation. Conversion of the resulting N-terminal glutamine to glutamate renders the protein susceptible to arginylation, polyubiquitination and degradation as specified by the N-end rule. However,it does not act on substrates with internal or C-terminal glutamine andnon-glutamine residues in any position. With the exception of proline, all tested second-position residues on substrate peptides do not greatly influence the activity. In contrast, a proline at position 2, virtually abolishes deamidation of N-terminal glutamine.
