Description:
NSA1 Antibody: The yeast nucleolar protein NOP7 is necessary for the maturation of 66S preribosomes and interacts with numerous other proteins. One such protein is an essential, conserved WD repeat protein, NOP seven-associated protein 1 (NSA1), that is also required for the yeast 66S ribosome assembly. NSA1 is also associated with the AAA ATPase Rix7, and release of NSA1 from a novel late nucleolar pre-60S requires the Rix7 function. NSA1 has also been found upregulated in mammalian cancer cells, suggesting it may also play a role in cell proliferation.

Description:
Ganglioside GM2 activator (GM2A) is a small glycolipid transport protein which acts as a substrate specific co-factor for the lysosomal enzyme beta -hexosaminidase A (HEXB). HEXB together with GM2A, catalyses the degradation of the ganglioside GM2, and other molecules containing terminal N-acetyl hexosamines. GM2A accommodate several single chain phospholipids and fatty acids, is a lipid transfer protein that stimulates the enzymatic processing of gangliosides, and also T-cell activation through lipid presentation. It extracts single GM2 molecules from membranes and presents them in soluble form to beta-hexosaminidase A for cleavage of N-acetyl-D-galactosamine and conversion to GM3.

Description:
Amiloride-sensitive amine oxidase (AOC1) belongs to the copper/topaquinone oxidase family. The protein exists as homodimer by disulfide and mainly located in placenta and kidney. AOC1 catalyses the degradation of compounds such as putrescine, histamine, spermine, and spermidine, substances involved in allergic and immune responses, cell proliferation, tissue differentiation, tumour formation, and possibly apoptosis. Placental DAO is thought to play a role in the regulation of the female reproductive function. The activity of this protein can be inhibited by amiloride in a competitive manner. It is inhibited by amiloride, a diuretic that acts by closing epithelial sodium ion channels.

Description:
SURF4 is a conserved integral membrane protein containing multiple putative transmembrane regions. In eukaryotic cells, protein transport between the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi compartments is mediated in part by non-clathrin-coated vesicular coat proteins (COPs). The specific function of this protein has not been determined but its yeast homolog is directly required for packaging glycosylated pro-alpha-factor into COPII vesicles. This gene is located in the surfeit gene cluster, which is comprised of very tightly linked housekeeping genes that do not share sequence similarity. The encoded protein is a conserved integral membrane protein containing multiple putative transmembrane regions. This gene uses multiple polyadenylation sites, resulting in transcript length variation. The existence of alternatively spliced transcript variants has been suggested, but their validity has not been determined.

Description:
GAL3ST3 is a member of the galactose-3-O-sulfotransferase protein family. It catalyzes sulfonation by transferring a sulfate group to the 3' position of galactose in N-acetyllactosamine in both type 2 (Gal-beta-1-4GlcNAc-R) oligosaccharides and core-2-branched O-glycans, but not on type 1 or core-1-branched structures. This gene, which has also been referred to as GAL3ST2, is different from the GAL3ST2 gene located on chromosome 2 that encodes a related enzyme with distinct tissue distribution and substrate specificities, compared to galactose-3-O-sulfotransferase 3.This gene encodes a member of the galactose-3-O-sulfotransferase protein family. ERMAP is a cell surface transmembrane protein that may act as an erythroid cell receptor, possibly as a mediator of cell adhesion. Polymorphisms in the gene encoding ERMAP protein are responsible for the Scianna/Radin blood group system. The protein encoded by this gene is a cell surface transmembrane protein that may act as an erythroid cell receptor, possibly as a mediator of cell adhesion. Description:
EIF2AK1 acts at the level of translation initiation to downregulate protein synthesis in response to stress. The protein is a kinase that can be inactivated by hemin. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. The HRI gene is localized to 7p22 where its 3' end slightly overlaps the 3' end of the gene JTV1. The two genes are transcribed from opposite strands. Studies in rat and rabbit suggest that the HRI gene product phosphorylates the alpha subunit of eukaryotic initiation factor 2. Its kinase activity is induced by low levels of heme and inhibited by the presence of heme. Sequence Note: The sequence AF181071.1 is a chimeric mRNA clone. Only the heme-regulated initiation factor 2-alpha kinase region was propagated into this RefSeq record.

Description:
Mouse Ca14,also known as Carbonic anhydrase 14,is a member of large family of zinc metalloenzymes .It could catalyse reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. The reaction is fundamental to many processes such as respiration, renal tubular acidification and bone resorption. Fifteen CA isoforms have been reported so far. They have different patterns of tissue-specific expression and physiologic roles. Some CAs may serve as markers for tumours and hypoxia. CA XIV is a polypeptide consisting of an extracellular N-terminal catalytic domain, a membrane-spanning segment and a short intracellular C- terminal segment with several potential phosphorylation sites. A subset of CAs lack CA activity due to point mutations but retain esterase function. CA14 is widely expressed in the central nervous system
