PAX3 is a member of the paired box (PAX) family of transcription factors. Members of the PAX family typically contain a paired box domain and a paired-type homeodomain. These genes play critical roles during fetal development. Mutations in paired box gene 3 are associated with Waardenburg syndrome, craniofacial-deafness-hand syndrome, and alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. The translocation t (2;13) (q35;q14), which represents a fusion between PAX3 and the forkhead gene, is a frequent finding in alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma.

Description:
DISC1 Antibody: Disrupted in schizophrenia 1 (DISC1) is a candidate gene for susceptibility to schizophrenia. It was discovered through chromosomal analysis of a large Scottish family whose members exhibited schizophrenia and related psychiatric disorders. Through yeast two-hybrid screening, it was discovered that DISC1 interacts with many members of the centrosome and cytoskeletal system including MAP1A and Nudel. More recently, DISC1 has been found to regulate the transport of a complex containing Nudel, the lissencephaly-1 (LIS1) protein, and 14-3-3epsilon from neuronal cell bodies to the axons by the action of the microtubule-dependent directed motor protein kinesin-1, also known as KIF5A. Decreased expression of DISC1 in neurons caused an accelerated rate of neuronal integration, resulting in aberrant morphological development, suggesting that DISC1 plays a role in dendritic development and synapse formation. DISC1 has at least four known isoforms.

Description:
This antibody recognises a 60 kDa protein, identified as the heat shock protein 60. The antibody's epitope is localized between amino acids 383-447 of human HSP60. A wide variety of environmental and pathophysiological stressful conditions trigger the synthesis of a family of proteins known as heat shock proteins (hsp’s), more appropriately called as stress response proteins (srp’s). HSP60 is a potential antigen in a number of autoimmune diseases. In human arthritis and in experimentally induced arthritis in animals, disease development coincides with the development of immune reactivity directed against not only bacterial HSP60, but also against its mammalian homolog. Clone LK1 antibody, unlike LK2 antibody, recognises only the mammalian (not bacterial) HSP60 and is useful in distinguishing HSP60 from mammals and bacteria.

Nkx6.3 is a new member of the Nkx6 subfamily of homeodomain proteins. Members of the Nkx family of homeodomain proteins are involved in a variety of developmental processes such as cell fate determination in the CNS and in the pancreas. Nkx6.3 is expressed in the developing CNS and gastro-intestinal tract. Nkx6.3 shows a remarkably selective expression in a subpopulation of differentiating V2 neurons at caudal hindbrain levels. In the gut, Nkx6.3 is expressed in duodenal and glandular stomach endoderm and at the end of gestation Nkx6.3 became restricted to the base of the gastric units in the glandular stomach.

Stimulating T cells with HIV-1 (B Gag) peptide pool releases downstream cytokines and upregulates activation markers, enabling antigen-specific T cells to be detected or isolated for analysis. HIV-1 (B Gag) Peptide Pool is a lyophilised mixture of 123 peptides from the gag polyprotein of human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1). The pool consists of 15-mer peptides with 11-amino-acid overlaps that cover amino acids 1 to 500 on gag polyprotein. The HIV-1 gag polyprotein is a key mediator of viral particle assembly (Campbell and Rein; Dong <i>et al.</i>), and together with the endosomal sorting complexes required for transport (ESCRT), results in budding during virion release (Carlson <i>et al.</i>). Viral peptide pools are useful for a broad range of applications, including vaccine development, immunological research, and diagnostic assay development.
