It may catalyze the formation of the NeuAc-alpha-2,3-Gal-beta-1,3-GalNAc- or NeuAc-alpha-2,3-Gal-beta-1,3-GlcNAc-sequences found in terminal carbohydrate groups of glycoproteins and glycolipids. It may be involved in the biosynthesis of the sialyl Lewis X determinant.Synthesis of alpha-2,3-linked sialic acid to Gal (beta-1,3)GalNAc is mediated by at least 3 distinct beta-galactoside alpha-2,3-sialyltransferases (EC 2.4.99.4), including ST3GAL4. In contrast, only a single gene encodes the beta-galactoside alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase (EC 2.4.99.1), ST6GAL1 (MIM 109675) (Chang et al., 1995 [PubMed 7655169]).

CD152 and CD28, together with their ligands B7-1 and B7-2, constitute one of the dominant costimulatory pathways that regulate T and B cell responses. CD152 and CD28 are structurally homologous molecules that are members of the immunoglobulin (Ig) gene superfamily. Both CD152 and CD28 are composed of a single Ig V-like extracellular domain, a transmembrane domain and an intracellular domain. CD152 and CD28 are both expressed on the cell surface as disulphide-linked homodimers or as monomers. CD152 was originally identified as a gene that was specifically expressed by cytotoxic T lymphocytes. However, CD152 transcripts have since been found in both Th1 and Th2, and CD4+ and CD8+ T cell clones. Whereas, CD28 expression is constitutive on the surfaces of 95% of CD4+ T cells and 50% of CD8+ T cells and is down regulated upon T cell activation, CD152 expression is upregulated rapidly following T cell activation and peaks approximately 24 hours following activation. Although both CD152 and CD28 can bind to the same ligands, CD152 binds to B71 and B72 with 20-100-fold higher affinity than CD28.

Vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF-C) is a member of the VEGF/platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) family of proteins. VEGF-C is a potent angiogenic factor and promotes lymphangiogenesis, endothelial cell growth and survival, and can affect blood vessel permeability. VEGF-C is expressed in a range of tissues, but is not expressed in peripheral blood lymphocytes. VEGF-C forms a non-covalent, cell surface-associated, disulfide-linked homodimer that can bind and activate VEGF receptors 2 (VEGFR-2 [Flk1]) and 3 (VEGFR-3 [Flt4]). Interaction with VEGFR-2 results in physiological and intratumoral neoangiogenesis and vessel sprouting (Cao <i>et al.</i>; Tammela <i>et al.</i>), whereas interaction with VEGFR-3 is critical for lymphangiogenesis (Karkkainen <i>et al.</i>; Laakkonen <i>et al.</i>; Mäkinen <i>et al.</i>). Overexpression of VEGF-C in tumor cells has been shown to result in enhanced lymph flow and increased metastasis to regional lymph nodes (Hoshida <i>et al.</i>; Mandriota <i>et al.</i>; Padera <i>et al.</i>; Skobe <i>et al.</i>).

CD antigen CD98 is also known as 4F2 cell-surface antigen heavy chain (4F2hc), 4F2 heavy chain antigen, Solute carrier family 3 member 2 (SLC3A2), Lymphocyte activation antigen 4F2 large subunit, is a single-pass type I I membrane protein which belongs to the SLC3A transporter family.. SLC3A2 / CD98 is expressed ubiquitously in all tissues tested with highest levels detected in kidney, placenta and testis and weakest level in thymus. SLC3A2 / CD98 is required for the function of light chain amino-acid transporters and also involved in sodium-independent, high-affinity transport of large neutral amino acids such as phenylalanine, tyrosine, leucine, arginine and tryptophan. CD98 involved in guiding and targeting of LAT1 and LAT2 to the plasma membrane. When associated with SLC7A5 or SLC7A8, CD98 involved in the cellular activity of small molecular weight nitrosothiols, via the stereoselective transport of L-nitrosocysteine (L-CNSO) across the transmembrane. DDX60 Antibody: DDX60 is a DEXD/H Box RNA helicase and the human homolog of the S. cerevisiae Ski2, a cofactor of RNA exosome. Expression of DDX60 increases after viral infection and binds to endogenous RIG-I, a cytoplasmic viral RNA sensor, as well as other RIG-I-like receptors such as MDA5 and LGP2. These proteins activate TBK1 and IKK-e, signaling IRF3 and NF-kB-responsive genes in the innate immune response pathway. These columns analyse more compounds in a single run than packed columns, while still delivering higher resolution and faster analysis times. When compared to liquid stationary phases, CP-Al₂O₃ provides increased selectivity and allows all C₁ to C₅ hydrocarbon isomers to be separated. CP-Al₂O₃ operates without the need for sub-ambient cooling.

Seasonal H1N1 Nucleocapsid Protein Antibody: Influenza A virus is a major public health threat, killing more than 30, 000 people per year in the USA. In early 2009, a novel swine-origin influenza A (H1N1) virus (S-OIV) was identified in specimens obtained from patients in Mexico and the United States. The influenza A virus polymerase transcribes and replicates eight virion RNA (vRNA) segments, among which the nucleocapsid protein (NP), thought to control whether mRNA or cRNA is produced. The nucleoprotein (NP), which has multiple functions during the virus life cycle, possesses regions that are highly conserved among influenza A, B, and C viruses. It was recently found several NP mutations that affected the efficient incorporation of multiple viral-RNA (vRNA) segments into progeny virions even though a single vRNA segment was incorporated efficiently. This indicates that the respective conserved amino acids in NP may be critical for the assembly and/or incorporation of sets of eight vRNA segments.
