Alpha2-HS glycoprotein (AHSG), a glycoprotein present in the serum, is synthesized by hepatocytes. The AHSG molecule consists of two polypeptide chains, which are both cleaved from a proprotein encoded from a single mRNA. It is involved in several functions, such as endocytosis, brain development and the formation of bone tissue. The protein is commonly present in the cortical plate of the immature cerebral cortex and bone marrow hemopoietic matrix, and it has therefore been postulated that it participates in the development of the tissues. However, its exact significance is still obscure.

Fc Receptor-Like Protein 1 (FCRL1) is a single-pass type I membrane protein that may function as an activating coreceptor in B cells. FCRL1 is primarily expressed in secondary lymphoid tissues by mature subsets of B cells. It can be detected in the spleen, lymph node, heart, skeletal muscle, kidney, liver and placenta. It is specifically expressed by mature B lineage cells with higher expression at the protein level in naive B cells compared to memory B cells. FCRL1 contains three extracellular C2-like immunoglobulin domains, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic domain with two immunoreceptor-tyrosine activation motifs and may play a role in the regulation of cancer cell growth.

Rat Macrophage colony-stimulating factor 1(MCSF,CSF1) is a single-pass type I membrane cytokine. It is a hematopoietic growth factor that plays an essential role in the regulation of survival, proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells, especially mononuclear phagocytes, such as macrophages and monocytes. MCSF promotes the release of proinflammatory chemokines, and thereby plays an important role in innate immunity and in inflammatory processes. It is involved in the regulation of osteoclast proliferation and differentiation, the regulation of bone resorption, and is required for normal bone development which for normal male and female fertility. It promotes reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, regulates formation of membrane ruffles, cell adhesion and cell migration. MCSF also plays a role in lipoprotein clearance.

JWA is a four-transmembrane environmental responsive protein which binds to the CC chemokine recepor 5 (CCR5), a major co-receptor for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). JWA is involved in environmental stress-responsive pathways in K562 cells, an erythroleukemia cell line derived from patients with chronic myeloid leukemia. Environmental stressors to K562 cells such as heat shock, a higher temperature than the ideal body temperature of the organism from which the cell line was derived, and oxidative stress, the production of oxygen-centered free radicals, regulate and increase the expres-sion of JWA. This response to environmental stressors suggests similiarity of JWA to heat shock protein 70 (HSP70), which is upregulated by heat stress and toxic chemicals.

The OKT4 monoclonal antibody specifically binds to the CD4 receptor for the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). CD4 is a 59 kDa single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein that expressed on the surface of most of the thymocytes, T-helper cells, and in low levels on monocytes and macrophages. CD4 is a co-receptor in the antigen-induced T cell activation (together with the MHC class II). The OKT4 and the RPA-T4 monoclonal antibodies recognize different epitopes of CD4 and they do not exhibit cross-block binding.
