Reacts with a protein of ~66 kDa, identified as bovine serum albumin (BSA). It is a high affinity antibody and can be used for detection of traces of BSA. Bovine serum albumin (BSA) is an abundant plasma protein in cows that is important for maintaining osmotic pressure in blood plasma for proper distribution of body fluids between intravascular compartments and body tissues. BSA is a common buffer component for immunoglobulin type assays due to good solubility characteristics for water, Ca2 , Na , K , fatty acids, hormones and bilirubin. BSA makes up about half of the protein in plasma and represents the most stable and soluble protein in the plasma. It is a suitable reagent for laboratories developing immunoassays, mostly due to its availability, solubility and the numerous functional groups present for coupling. The BSA component contains several lysines that are capable of reacting with conjugation sites of linkers, making it applicable as a carrier protein for antigenic compounds.

Description:
PKA (or cAPK) is a cyclic AMP dependent protein kinase. When activated by the second messenger cAMP, PKA mediates diverse cellular mechanisms, including proliferation, ion transport, regulation of metabolism, plus gene transcription. PKA is comprised of two dimers of two subunits, R (regulatory) and C (catalytic). Two families of R subunit (RI and RII) and three C subunit isoforms (C alpha, C beta, and C gamma) have been identified each possessing distinct cAMP binding properties and resulting in different phosphorylation states. C subunit is activated through autophosphorylation and direct phosphorylation at Thr197 by PDK-1. Tissue specific expression of C gamma, indicates pressure on C gamma during evolution, acting to modulate it in a functionally specific way. Description:
The octapeptide circulatory hormone Angiotensin II is a critical regulator of cardiovascular homeostasis formed in blood, with dual function in tissues of the brain, kidney, heart, and vasculature as an autocrine/paracrine growth hormone. The actions of angiotensin II are mediated by type one (AT1) and type two (AT2) angiotensin II receptors, members of the seven-transmembrane Gprotein coupled receptor (GPCR) family. AT1 receptors couple predominantly with Gq/11 alpha subunits, and signal through phospholipases C, D, and A2, inositol phosphates, and calcium channels, as well as a variety of serine/threonine and tyrosine kinases. AT1 expression is greatest in vascular smooth muscle, liver, kidney, adrenal cortex, brain, and lung, and is primarily responsible for the physiological effects of angiotensin II, including regulation of arterial blood pressure, electrolyte and water balance, thirst, hormone secretion, and renal function. The AT2 receptor displays approximately 30% identity to the AT1 receptor, and is highly expressed during embryonic development. AT2 expression in adult tissue is limited to the adrenal medulla, brain, and reproductive tissues, but is upregulated in injured tissue following myocardial infarction, vascular injury, and wound healing. AT2 receptor signaling is not dependent on G-protein coupling or receptor phosphorylation, although coupling to Gia2 and Gia3 alpha subunits occurs in some tissues. AT2 activation can stimulate tyrosine and serine/threonine phosphatases through activation of nitric oxide and cGMP, and appears to counteract the stimulatory effects of AT1 receptor and growth factor receptor signaling.
