NKIRAS1 is part of the Ras family and GTPase superfamily of proteins. Unlike other family members which have a glycine and glutamine residue at positions 13 and 65, NKIRAS1 (and 2) has leucines in these positions.<p>NKIRAS1 is a regulator of NF-kB activity via its inhibition of IkB (NFKBIB) degradation. IkB complexes with NF-kB, preventing nuclear translocation and subsequent signaling. By preventing or reducing IkB degradation, NKIRAS1 blocks NF-kB signaling activity.

alpha-2-HS Glycoprotein (AHSG) is a glycoprotein that is composed of two subunits, the A and B chains, belongs to the Cystatin family of proteases inhibitors. It is highly expressed in embryonic cells and adult hepatocytes, and is expressed to a lesser extent in monocytes/macrophages. AHSG is an important circulating inhibitor of calcification in vivo, and is downregulated during the acute-phase response. It is involved in several functions, such as endocytosis, brain development and the formation of bone tissue. In addition, AHSG may influence the resolution of inflammation by modulating the phagocytosis of apoptotic cells by macrophages. ASHG blocks TGF-beta-dependent signaling in osteoblastic cells.

Beta-Defensin 3 (BD-3), also known as DEFB-3, is a member of the defensin class of antimicrobial peptides. Beta defensins exert host defense responses against viruses, bacteria, and fungi through the binding and permeabilizing of microbial membranes. BD-3 expression is stimulated by interferon-gamma and is an important molecule during adaptive immunity. BD-3 functions to activate monocytes and mast cells, and has antibacterial functions towards Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Further, BD-3 blocks human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) replication through the downregulation of the HIV-1 co-receptor, CXCR4.

IRS-1 Antibody: Following tyrosine phosphorylation, the insulin receptor substrate 1 and 2 (IRS-1 and IRS-2) can form a protein scaffolding for the assembly of a host of Src homology 2 (SH2) domain-containing proteins. IRS-1 tyrosine phosphorylation can occur through the activity of several cytokine and growth factor receptors such as interleukin (IL)-4, IL-9, interferon-gamma, in addition to the insulin and insulin-like growth factor 1 receptors. The scaffolding provided by IRS-1 and IRS-2 is necessary for insulin signal transduction across the cell membrane. IRS-1 tyrosine phosphorylation, and thus formation of the IRS scaffolding is inhibited by tumor necrosis factor (TNF), and this inhibition can itself be blocked by rapamycin, an inhibitor of the mammalian target of rapamycin (TOR). TNF activity could also be blocked by inhibition of the Akt kinase and the PTEN tumor suppressor, suggesting that TNF impairs insulin signaling through IRS-1 by activation of the TOR signaling pathway.
