Description:
Iterleukin 7 is a lymphoid cell growth factor that affects pre-B, pro-B, and early T cells. IL-7 was previously known as pre-B cell growth factor and lymphopoietin 1. IL-7 supports the growth of early B cells from long-term lymphoid bone marrow cultures. It is mitogenic to thymocytes and enhances the response of cells to other stimuli such as polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) and concanavalin A (ConA). IL-7 stimulates the proliferation of CD4+/CD8+ cells. The proliferative response of thymocytes to IL-7 is not affected by antibodies to the T cell growth factors such as IL-2, IL-4 and IL-6, suggesting that IL-7 is capable of stimulating T cell proliferation through a pathway independent of the known T cell growth factors. Mature T cells respond to IL-7 and Con A, but not to IL-7 alone. In myeloid lineage cells, IL-7 upregulates the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and stimulates the tumoricidal activity of monocytes/macrophages. IL-7 is expressed by adherent stromal cells from various tissues.

HIG2 Antibody: HIG1 and HIG2 (Hypoxia-inducible gene 1 and 2, respectively) are known to be induced by hypoxic conditions. HIG2 is induced by hypoxia and by glucose deprivation in cultured cells. In addition, tumor xenografts derived from human cervical cancer cells display increased expression of HIG1 and HIG2 when they are deprived of oxygen. Unlike HIG2, which is ubiquitously expressed and might be an activator and target of the canonical Wnt pathway, the function and the mechanisms underlying its regulation of HIG1 still remained unknown. Description:
Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) promotes the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells and the generation of neutrophils, eosinophils, and macrophages. In synergy with other cytokines such as stem cell factor, IL-3, erythropoietin, and thrombopoietin, it also stimulates erythroid and megakaryocyte progenitor cells (Barreda <i>et al.</i>). GM-CSF was first purified from the culture of mouse lung tissue after lipopolysaccharide treatment. GM-CSF is produced by multiple cell types, including stromal cells, Paneth cells, macrophages, dendritic cells (DCs), endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, fibroblasts, chondrocytes, and Th1 and Th17 cells (Francisco-Cruz <i>et al.</i>). The receptor for GM-CSF (GM-CSFR) is composed of two subunits: the cytokine-specific α subunit (GMRα; CD116) and the common subunit βc (CD131) shared with IL-3 and IL-5 receptors (Broughton <i>et al.</i>). GM-CSFR is expressed on hematopoietic cells, including progenitor cells and immune cells, as well as non-hematopoietic cells. GM-CSF is able to stimulate the development of DCs that ingest, process, and present antigens to the immune system (Francisco-Cruz <i>et al.</i>).
