p-Nitroblue Tetrazolium Chloride is an NADPH-diaphorase substrate that competitively inhibits NOS (nitric oxide synthase) (IC50 = 3-4 μM). In combination with 5-Bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl phosphate (BCIP) and an appropriate reaction buffer, Nitroblue tetrazolium forms a substrate for the colorimetric detection of alkaline phosphatase conjugates in a variety of molecular and cell biology techniques.
p-nitro blue tetrazolium is used for the detection of alkaline phosphatase on western blots. It has also been used as a redox indicator for other enzymatic reactions including dehydrogenases, threonine deaminase, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, phosphofructokinase on polyacrylamide gels, oxidases on polyacrylamide gels, and pentose shunt dehydrogenases. Redox and halfwave potentials have been determined for p - nitro blue tetrazolium. It has also been used as a colorimetric indicator of bacterial infection in blood samples.

This Product is the lyophilized powder of fluorescein-5-isothiocyanate (FITC "Isomer I")-conjugated goat IgG fraction to human complement C1q and buffer salts.The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure with bovine albumin as the standard; F/P ratio is calculated using absorbance at 491.5nm. Antibody titer of the IgG fraction is standardized with an in-house control by immunoelectrophoresis. The IgG fraction is tested for purity and specificity at 40 mg/mL using immunoelectrophoresis. The product is mostly goat IgG; no trace of albumin is detected.

Description:
Aldolase is a tetrameric protein. It catalyses a key reaction in glycolysis and energy production:D-Fructose 1,6-bisphosphate aldolase → dihydroxyacetone phosphate + D-glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate. Aldolase is present in all animal tissue and in most microorganisms. There are two classes of aldolases. Class I aldolase is found in animal and higher plant tissue. Class II aldolase is found in primitrive cells such as yeasts and bacteria. Class I aldolase is characterised by not requiring a bivalent metal cofactor and the formation of a ketimine Schiff base intermediate with the substrate dihydroxyacetone phosphate. Class II aldolase requires a metal cofactor and is inhibited by EDTA. Three types of aldolase exist in animal tissue. The major form, type A is found in muscle; type B is found in liver tissue and type C (plus some type A) is found in brain tissue. Aldolase forms five isozymes which may to various degrees be organ specific.
