Description:   The RUNX2 gene is a member of the RUNX family of transcription factors and encodes a nuclear protein with an Runt DNA-binding domain. This protein is essential for osteoblastic differentiation and skeletal morphogenesis, acting as a scaffold for nucleic acids and regulatory factors involved in skeletal gene expression. The protein can bind DNA both as a monomer or, with more affinity, as a subunit of a heterodimeric complex. Mutations in this gene have been associated with the bone development disorder cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD).

Description:   MCM7 encodes a protein that is one of the highly conserved mini-chromosome maintenance proteins (MCM) that are essential for the initiation of eukaryotic genome replication. The hexameric protein complex formed by the MCM proteins is a key component of the pre-replication complex (pre_RC) and may be involved in the formation of replication forks and in the recruitment of other DNA replication related proteins. The MCM complex consisting of this protein and MCM2, 4 and 6 proteins possesses DNA helicase activity, and may act as a DNA unwinding enzyme. Cyclin D1-dependent kinase, CDK4, is found to associate with this protein, and may regulate the binding of this protein with the tumorsuppressor protein RB1/RB.

Description:   ZNF259 may be a signaling molecule that communicates mitogenic signals from the cytoplasm to the nucleus. ZNF259 binds to the EGFR and is released from the receptor after activation.ZNF259 is essential for cell viability and its interaction with eEF-1alpha contributes to normal cellular proliferation.ZNF259 translocates from the cytoplasm to the nucleus after treatment of cells with mitogens. ZNF259 accumulates in the nucleolus of proliferating cells. Loss of ZNF259 caused disruption of nucleolar function, including preribosomal RNA expression. ZNF259 is an essential protein that is required for normal nucleolar function in proliferating cells.

Description:   WDR34 is a member of the WD repeat protein family. WD repeats are minimally conserved regions of approximately 40 amino acids typically bracketed by gly-his and trp-asp (GH-WD), which may facilitate formation of heterotrimeric or multiprotein complexes. Members of this family are involved in a variety of cellular processes, including cell cycle progression, signal transduction, apoptosis, and gene regulation. This gene encodes a member of the WD repeat protein family. Description:   Microsomal long and very long chain fatty acid elongation uses malonyl-CoA as the 2-carbon donor and consists of 4 sequential reactions. GPSN2 catalyzes the final step, reducing trans-2,3-enoyl-CoA to saturated acyl-CoA. Description:   JMJD2A Antibody: Members of the Jumonji domain 2 (JMJD2) family contain a JmjN domain, a JmjC domain, a JD2H domain, two TUDOR domains, and two PHD-type zinc fingers. The first member of this group, JMJD2A, is widely expressed in human tissues and cell lines and functions as a trimethylation-specific demethylase, converting specific trimethylated histone residues to the dimethylated form, and as a transcriptional repressor. JMJD2A can also form a complex with the androgen receptor (AR), a transcription factor that is pivotal for the development of prostate cancer. Overexpression of JMJD2A stimulates AR function and this stimulation is dependent on JMJD2A catalytic activity, suggesting that JMJD2A might be a critical protein with roles in cell proliferation and oncogenesis.

Description:   PRDX3 is a protein with antioxidant function and is localized in the mitochondrion. Expression of this gene product in E. coli deficient in the C22-subunit gene rescued resistance of the bacteria to alkylhydroperoxide. The human and mouse genes are highly conserved, and they map to the regions syntenic between mouse and human chromosomes. Sequence comparisons with recently cloned mammalian homologues suggest that these genes consist of a family that is responsible for regulation of cellular proliferation, differentiation, and antioxidant functions. This gene encodes a protein with antioxidant function and is localized in the mitochondrion. This gene shows significant nucleotide sequence similarity to the gene coding for the C22 subunit of Salmonella typhimurium alkylhydroperoxide reductase. Two transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene.
