Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor Receptor Subunit alpha (CSF2RA) is a single-pass type I membrane protein which belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family of Type 5 subfamily. The CSF2RA gene is found in the pseudoautosomal region (PAR) of the X and Y chromosomes with some of the isoforms being membrane-bound and others being soluble. CSF2RA is a low affinity receptor for granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor. CSF2RA transduces a signal that results in the proliferation, differentiation, and functional activation of hematopoietic cells. Defects in CSF2RA are the cause of pulmonary surfactant metabolism dysfunction type 4 (SMDP4).

Fc Receptor-Like Protein 1 (FCRL1) is a single-pass type I membrane protein that may function as an activating coreceptor in B cells. FCRL1 is primarily expressed in secondary lymphoid tissues by mature subsets of B cells. It can be detected in the spleen, lymph node, heart, skeletal muscle, kidney, liver and placenta. It is specifically expressed by mature B lineage cells with higher expression at the protein level in naive B cells compared to memory B cells. FCRL1 contains three extracellular C2-like immunoglobulin domains, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic domain with two immunoreceptor-tyrosine activation motifs and may play a role in the regulation of cancer cell growth.

Rat Macrophage colony-stimulating factor 1(MCSF,CSF1) is a single-pass type I membrane cytokine. It is a hematopoietic growth factor that plays an essential role in the regulation of survival, proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells, especially mononuclear phagocytes, such as macrophages and monocytes. MCSF promotes the release of proinflammatory chemokines, and thereby plays an important role in innate immunity and in inflammatory processes. It is involved in the regulation of osteoclast proliferation and differentiation, the regulation of bone resorption, and is required for normal bone development which for normal male and female fertility. It promotes reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, regulates formation of membrane ruffles, cell adhesion and cell migration. MCSF also plays a role in lipoprotein clearance.

Uroplakin-2 is a component of the asymmetric unit membrane (AUM) and expressed in the ureter, a highly specialized biomembrane elaborated by terminally differentiated urothelial cells. Uroplakin-2 forms heterodimer with UPK1A that is necessary for exiting out of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Uroplakin-2 may play an important role in regulating the assembly of the AUM. AUM is believed to strengthen the urothelium by preventing cell rupture during bladder distention.
