<i>Pfu</i> DNA Polymerase, derived from the hyperthermophilic archae <i>Pyrococcus furiosus</i>, has superior thermostability and proofreading properties compared to other thermostable polymerases. It has a molecular weight of 90 kDa and can amplify DNA targets up to 2 kb. The elongation velocity is 0,2~0,4 kb/min (70~75 °C). <i>Pfu</i> DNA Polymerase possesses 3' to 5' exonuclease proofreading activity that enables the polymerase to correct nucleotide misincorporation errors. This means that<i> Pfu</i> DNA Polymerase-generated PCR fragments will have fewer errors than <i>Taq</i>-generated PCR inserts. Using <i>Pfu</i> DNA Polymerase results in blunt-ended PCR products, which are ideal for cloning into blunt-ended vectors. <i>Pfu</i> DNA Polymerase is superior for techniques that require high-fidelity DNA synthesis.

This gene encodes a member of the epidermal growth factor superfamily. The encoded protein is synthesized as a large precursor molecule that is proteolytically cleaved to generate the 53-amino acid epidermal growth factor peptide. This protein acts a potent mitogenic factor that plays an important role in the growth, proliferation and differentiation of numerous cell types. This protein acts by binding the high affinity cell surface receptor, epidermal growth factor receptor. Defects in this gene are the cause of hypomagnesemia type 4. Dysregulation of this gene has been associated with the growth and progression of certain cancers. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, causing a hyperpolarization of the membrane through the opening of a Cl− channel associated with the GABAA receptor (GABAA-R) subtype. GABA plasma membrane transporters (GATs) influence synaptic neurotransmission by high-affinity uptake and release of GABA. To date, four distinct GABA transporters have been identified: GAT-1, GAT-2, GAT-3, and BGT-1. GAT-2 is found in a wide range of neuronal and non-neuronal cells including dendrites and axon terminals as well as epithelial cells and cells forming the pia and arachnoid complex (Conti et al., 1999).

Plxdc2 Antibody: Plxdc2, also known as Tumor endothelial marker 7-related (TEM7R) encodes a protein with 57% amino acid identity to TEM7, the most abundant tumor endothelial marker. Plxdc2 is strongly expressed in the endothelial cells of the tumor stroma, but not in the endothelial cells of normal colonic tissue. Plxdc2 is also expressed at high levels in vessels of some normal tissues, with highest expression in muscle and lung. Plxdc2 and TEM7 may be important for tumor angiogenesis in humans. Cortactin was identified as a protein capable of binding to the extracellular region of both TEM7 and Plxdc2, and may provide new opportunities for the delivery of therapeutic and imaging agents to the vessels of solid tumors.

ZNF346 (CT) Antibody: ZNF346, also known as JAZ (just another zinc-finger protein), is a nucleolar, zinc finger protein which preferentially binds to double-stranded (ds) RNA or RNA/DNA hybrids with high affinity via C2H2 zinc fingers. ZNF346 contains four CH-type zinc finger motifs that are connected by long (28-38) amino acid linker sequences. ZNF346 is expressed in all tissues tested and localizes to the nucleus, primarily the nucleolus. ZNF346 is exported by exportin-5 but translocates back into nuclei by a facilitated diffusion mechanism. ZNF346 interacts with ILF3 in an RNA-independent manner and may be involved in cell growth and survival.
