This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils. Syntaxin 7 (STX7) is a member of a family of membrane-trafficking proteins named as soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptors (SNAREs), and mediates the endocytic trafficking from early endosomes to late endosomes and lysosomes. Syntaxin-7 has been shown to be present in both late endosomes and lysosomes, and to be required for both homotypic late endosome fusion and heterotypic fusion with lysosomes. Mouse ULBP1, also known as RAET1I and NKG2DL1, is a member of the ULBP/RAET1 gene family. ULBP1 plays an important role in immune responses, especially in cancer and infectious diseases, and is well-known to bind to NKG2D together with at least ULBP 2 and 3. These proteins are distantly related to major histocompatibility class I (MHC I) molecules, possessing the alpha 1 and alpha 2 Ig-like domains, but lacking the alpha 3 domain. Unlike MHC Class I, they have no capacity to bind peptide or interact with beta2-microglobulin. It can activate multiple signalling pathways in primary NK cells, gamma delta T cells, and CD8+ alpha beta T cells, resulting in the production of cytokines and chemokines.ULBP1 is expressed in wide range of tissues including heart, brain, lung, liver, bone marrow and some tumour cells, T-cells, B-cells, As an unconventional member of the MHC class I family, ULBP1 is able to interact with soluble CMV glycoprotein UL16 in CMV infected cells. The interaction with UL16 blocked the interaction with the NKG2D receptor, and thus might escape the immune surveillance. Furthermore, UL16 also causes ULBP1 to be retained in the ER and cis-Golgi apparatus so that it does not reach the cell surface. The ULBP1 regulation may have implications for development of new therapeutic strategies against cancer cells.

Mouse Legumain,also known as LGMN, is a cysteine protease belonging to peptidase family C13 and is expressed in kidney and placenta abundantly. LGMN has a strict specificity for hydrolysis of asparaginyl bonds. It can also cleave aspartyl bonds slowly, especially under acidic conditions. The mammalian legumain is involved in the processing of proteins for MHC class II antigen presentation in the lysosomal/endosomal system. It plays a role in the regulation of cell proliferation via its role in EGFR degradation. Legumain deficiency causes the accumulation of pro-Cathepsins B, H and L, another group of lysosomal cysteine proteases. Overexpression of Legumain in tumours is significant for invasion/metastasis. Mammalian legumain is inhibited by iodoacetamide and maleimides. Legumain activation appears to be autocatalytic and can be triggered by acidic pH.

Initiation of transcription by RNA polymerase II requires the activities of more than 70 polypeptides. The protein that coordinates these activities is transcription factor IID (TFIID), which binds to the core promoter to position the polymerase properly, serves as the scaffold for assembly of the remainder of the transcription complex, and acts as a channel for regulatory signals. KCTD15 Antibody: Childhood and adult obesity in the United States and to a lesser extent the rest of the world has increased dramatically over the past decade. Both environmental and genetic factors are involved in the onset and progression of weight gain. Recently, the potassium channel KCTD15 was identified as a genetic loci associated with higher than normal body mass index (BMI) in humans along with genes such as GNPDA2, MTCH2, FTO, and TMEM18. Further studies on single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in non-diabetic and diabetic patients showed that FTO was most strongly associated with obesity while MTCH2 and GNPDA2 were still significantly associated with higher than normal BMI levels. At least two isoforms of KCTD15 are known to exist.

Description:
The kelch-repeat protein family is a recently found new kind of actin-binding protein. It is characterized by tandemly arranged motifs of about 50 amino acids. Most members of the kelch-repeat family were cytoskeletal proteins implicated in various cellular processes, such as actin cytoskeleton interaction, cytoplasmic sequestration of transcription factors and cell morphology. During the large-scale sequencing analysis of a human fetal brain cDNA library we found a novel kelch-like protein gene 5, KLHL5, KLHL5 has high identity with Drosophila kelch protein and many other family members. A novel splicing variants of KLHL5, named KLHL5b and the expression pattern of KLHL5b in many tissues.
