MAK10 Antibody: The MAK10 gene encodes a 733-amino acid protein with several regions of similarity to T cell receptor alpha-subunit V (variable) regions in yeast. The mammalian homologue of yeast MAK10, also known as EGAP, is one subunit of a novel N-terminal acetyltransferase (NAT) that is highly conserved among vertebrate species. It is expressed in a variety of tissues in the developing rat embryo but restricted in expression in the adult, remaining detectable only in tissues undergoing continual cell renewal or in cells responding to pathological injury. The MAK10-NAT complex is an essential regulatory enzyme controlling the function of a subset of proteins required for embryonic growth control and vessel development. This complex functionally co-assembles in mammalian cells to regulate cell proliferation and is essential for embryonic development, at least in part through the regulation of target of rapamycin (TOR) signaling events. At least two isoforms of MAK10 are known to exist.

BOK Antibody: Apoptosis plays a major role in normal organism development, tissue homeostasis, and removal of damaged cells. Disruption of this process has been implicated in a variety of diseases such as cancer. The Bcl-2 family of proteins is comprised of critical regulators of apoptosis that can be divided into two classes: those that inhibit apoptosis and those that promote cell death. BOK, a pro-apoptotic Bcl-2 family member, was initially identified in the ovary, and was found to interact with other Bcl-2 family members such as Mcl-1 and Bfl-1. BOK expression is high during early placental development, suggesting that it may also play a role in regulating trophoblast cell proliferation.

EphrinB proteins are thought to play key roles in cellular functions as diverse as neuronal migration and blood vessel development (Flanagan and Vanderhaeghen, 1998; Dufour et al., 2003; Oike et al., 2002). EphrinB molecules expressed at the membrane surface bind to the EphB family receptors on target cells during cell-to cell contact. This interaction leads to cell signaling in the target cell but also generates a reverse signal in the cell expressing EphrinB on its surface. This reverse signaling event is thought to be critical for vessel maturation and neuronal development. Importantly, tyrosine phosphorylation of EphrinB is thought to be a critical component of this reverse signaling event (Palmer et al., 2002). Recent work demonstrated that Tyr331 of EphrinB was phosphorylated in HEK293 cells after stimulation by the soluble EphB2 receptor tyrosine kinase (Kalo et al., 2001).

Fumarase is an enzyme that catalyze the reversible hydration/dehydration of fumarate to S-malate and is involved in the tricarboxylic acid or Krebs cycle. Fumarase exists in both form, cytosolic formand N-terminal extend mitochondrial form. The N-terminal extended form is targeted to the mitochondrion, where the removal of the extension is the same form as in the cytoplasm. BAFF Antibody: Members in the TNF superfamily regulate immune responses and induce apoptosis. A novel member in the TNF family was recently identified by several groups and designated BAFF (for B cell Activating Factor belonging to the TNF Family), BLyS (for B Lymphocyte Stimulator), TALL-1 (for TNF- and ApoL-related Leukocyte-expressed Ligand), and THANK (for TNF Homologue that Activate Apoptosis, NF-kappa B and c-jun N-terminal Kinase). BAFF/BLyS was characterized as a B cell activator since it induced B cell proliferation and immunoglobulin secretion. Three receptors for BAFF were recently identified and designated TACI, BCMA and BAFF-R. BAFF and its receptors are essential for B cell development, survival, and humoral immune responses. BAFF is involved in the development of autoimmune diseases including systemic lupus erythaematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.
