Leptin acts through the leptin receptor (LEPR) to regulate adipose mass by inhibiting hunger and balancing energy usage. Leptin also has thermogenic actions, regulates enzymes of fatty acid oxidation, and is involved in hematopoiesis, angiogenesis, wound healing, inflammation, and immune responses.

TNF alpha is a homotrimer with a subunit molecular mass of 17 kD and plays a major role in growth regulation, differentiation, inflammation, viral replication, tumorigenesis, autoimmune diseases and in viral, bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections. Besides inducing hemorrhagic necrosis of tumors, TNF was found to be involved in tumorigenesis, tumor metastasis, viral replication, septic shock, fever, inflammation, and autoimmune diseases including Crohn’s disease, and rheumatoid arthritis as well as graft-versus-host disease.

Description:
Interleukin 6 (IL-6) is a multifunctional 24 kDa protein originally discovered in the medium of RNA stimulated fibroblastoid cells. It is upregulated by IL1, TNF, PDGF, IFN beta, TNF alpha, NGF, IL17 and downregulated by glucocorticoids IL4, TGF beta. IL-6 appears to be directly involved in the responses that occur after infection and cellular injury, and it may prove to be as important as IL1 and TNF alpha in regulating the acute phase response. IL-6 has also been implicated in regulating adipose mass.

The protein specifically promotes pancreatic beta cell proliferation and beta cell mass expansion, thereby improving glucose tolerance. It promotes pancreatic beta cell proliferation without insulin resistance. Also it acts as a blood lipid regulator by regulating serum triglyceride levels and possibly by promoting ANGPTL3 cleavage. It interacts with ANGPTL3. It predominantly expressed in liver and also expressed in adipose tissues. The ability of the protein to induce pancreatic beta cell proliferation is promising in diabetes therapy. Betatrophin treatment could supply or replace insulin injections by increasing the number of insulin-producing cells in diabetes.

Prenylated proteins contain one of two isoprenoid lipids, either the 15-carbon farnesyl or the 20-carbon geranylgeranyl, covalently attached to cysteine residues at or near their C terminus. PCYOX1 is capable of cleaving the thioether bond of prenylcysteines. The enzyme was isolated from bovine brain membranes and exhibits an apparent molecular mass of 63 kDa. This is a specific enzyme involved in prenylcysteine metabolism in mammalian cells, most likely comprising the final step in the degradation of prenylated proteins.

CDX2 Antibody: CDX2 is a member of the caudal homeobox family of transcription factors that also includes the proteins CDX1 and CDX4. CDX2 is strongly expressed in the trophectoderm in the blastocyst with expression maintained within the proliferating extra-embryonic ectoderm during development. It is required for the repression of the transcription of the POU5F1/Oct4 and NANOG genes in the outer cells of the blastocyst and is thus essential for the segregation of the inner cell mass and trophectoderm at the blastocyst stage. Aberrant expression of CDX2 is associated with numerous types of carcinomas, including intestinal metaplasia, gastric carcinoma, and acute myeloid leukemia due to deregulated HOX gene expression.

The p70/p80 autoantigen is a nuclear complex consisting of two subunits with molecular masses of approximately 70 and 80 kDa. The complex functions as a single-stranded DNA-dependent ATP-dependent helicase. The complex may be involved in the repair of nonhomologous DNA ends such as that required for double-strand break repair, transposition, and V (D)J recombination. Leptin receptor (LEPR) is also known as LEP-R, cluster of differentiation 295 (CD295), OB-R and B219, is a single-transmembrane-domain receptor of the gp130 family of cytokine receptors. Leptin receptor exists as homodimer and binds Leptin with high affinity, thus mediates the biological function of the adipocyte-specific hormone Leptin. LEPR is a receptor for leptin (an adipocyte-specific hormone that regulates body weight), and is involved in the regulation of fat metabolism, as well as in a novel hematopoietic pathway that is required for normal lymphopoiesis. Mutations in this protein have been associated with obesity and pituitary dysfunction. Interaction of leptin and leptin receptor is crucial for body weight and bone mass regulation in mammals through hypothalamic effects on satiety and energy expenditure. Meanwhile, research data supports a leptin receptor activation model based on ligand-induced conformational changes.

The general transcription factor TFIIE has an essential role in eukaryotic transcription initiation together with RNA polymerase II and other general factors. Human TFIIE consists of two subunits of relative molecular mass 57,000 (TFIIE-alpha) and 34,000 (TFIIE-beta) and joins the preinitiation complex after RNA polymerase II and TFIIF. TFIIE-alpha is necessary for transcription initiation together with TFIIE-beta, and recombinant TFIIE-alpha can fully replace the natural subunit in an in vitro transcription assay. Its sequence contains several interesting structural motifs (leucine repeat, zinc finger and helix-turn-helix) and sequence similarities to bacterial sigma factors that suggest direct involvement in the regulation of transcription initiation

Description:
Erythropoietin is the principal hormone involved in the regulation of erythropoiesis by stimulating the proliferation and differentiation of erythroid progenitor cells and the maintenance of a physiological level of circulating erythrocyte mass. It is a glycoprotein produced primarily by the kidney. The biological effects of EPO are mediated by the erythropoietin receptor (Epo R). Genetic variations in EPO is associated with susceptibility to microvascular complications of diabetes type 2 (MVCD2) (including diabetic retinopathy, diabetic nephropathy leading to end-stage renal disease and diabetic neuropathy). It is used for the treatment of anemia and misused as a performance-enhancing drug in endurance athletes.
