Description:
TREX2 Antibody: TREX2 is one of two major human 3' to 5' exonucleases which are required for checkpoint signaling after DNA damage. While the related protein TREX1 is required for ATR expression and mutations in this gene result in Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome, chilblain lupus, and Cree encephalitis, less is known about TREX2. Like TREX1, TREX2 is ubiquitously expressed in all tissues examined. X-ray crystallography studies of TREX2-single strand DNA complexes revealed that TREX2 binds DNA as a dimer and may act to displace the second DNA strand, suggesting that TREX2 unzips and denatures double stranded DNA and feed the substrate DNA strand into the TREX2 active site. At least two isoforms of TREX2 are known to exist.

This gene encodes a member of the galectin family of carbohydrate binding proteins. Members of this protein family have an affinity for beta-galactosides. The encoded protein is characterized by an N-terminal proline-rich tandem repeat domain and a single C-terminal carbohydrate recognition domain. This protein can self-associate through the N-terminal domain allowing it to bind to multivalent saccharide ligands. This protein localizes to the extracellular matrix, the cytoplasm and the nucleus. This protein plays a role in numerous cellular functions including apoptosis, innate immunity, cell adhesion and T-cell regulation. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

RNASET2 Antibody: RNASET2 is a novel member of the Rh/T2/S-glycoprotein class of extracellular ribonucleases. It is a single copy gene that maps to 6q27, a region associated with human malignancies and chromosomal rearrangement, and has been suggested to function as a tumor suppressor protein. Its expression is suppressed in Human T-cell Leukemia Virus type 1 (HTLV-1) infected cells following the binding of the HTLV-1 Tax protein to the RNASET2 promoter. As Adult T-cell leukemia (ATL) is one of the primary diseases caused by HTLV-1 infection, a reduction in the level of RNASET2 by Tax may play a role in ATL development.

SHISA4 Antibody: SHISA4 plays an essential role in the maturation of presomitic mesoderm cells by individual attenuation of both FGF and WNT signaling. The Shisa family of single-transmembrane proteins is characterized by an N-terminal cysteine-rich domain and a proline-rich C-terminal region. Its founding member, Xenopus Shisa, promotes head development by antagonizing Wnt and FGF signaling. Shisa physically interacted with immature forms of the Wnt receptor Frizzled and the FGF receptor within the ER and inhibited their posttranslational maturation and trafficking to the cell surface. Loss of Shisa function sensitized the neuroectoderm to Wnt signaling and suppressed head formation during gastrulation.

MHC class I polypeptide-related sequence A, also known as MIC-A, PERB11.1 and MICA, is a single-pass type I membrane protein which belongs to the MHC class I family of MIC subfamily. MICA contains one Ig-like C1-type domain and is expressed on the cell surface, although unlike canonical class I molecules does not seem to associate with beta-2-microglobulin. It is thought that MICA functions as a stress-induced antigen that is broadly recognised by NK cells, NKT cells, and most of the subtypes of T cells. MICA is the ligand for NK cell activating receptor KLRK1/NKG2D. MICA seems to have no role in antigen presentation. MICA leads to cell lysis by binding to KLRK1.

Myelin Protein P0 (MPZ) is a single-pass type I membrane glycoprotein which belongs to the myelin P0 protein family. MPZ contains one Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain, absent in the central nervous system. MPZ is a major component of the myelin sheath in peripheral nerves. It is postulated that MPZ is a structural element in the formation and stabilisation of peripheral nerve myelin, holding its characteristic coil structure together by the interaction of its positively-charged domain with acidic lipids in the cytoplasmic face of the opposed bilayer, and by interaction between hydrophobic globular of adjacent extracellular domains. Defects in MPZ associated with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and Dejerine-Sottas disease.

As a potential calcium-dependent cell-adhesion neuronal receptor, it may plays a role in the establishment and function of specific cell-cell connections in the brain.
